Nodiadau pregethau

A notebook, in an unknown hand (the initials 'H.R.' recur several times), containing sermon notes in Welsh, 1856-1860 and later. A few memoranda, dated 1885-1889, at the end of the volume suggest a connection with north east Wales.

A copy of [John Roberts] 'Ieuan Gwyllt', Llyfr Tonau Cynnulleidfaol. Yr wythfed fil ar hugain (Wrexham, 1871), including also his Ychwanegiad at y Llyfr Tonau Cynulleidfaol (Wrexham, 1870). At the beginning and end of the volume are some notes of sermons heard, c. 1883-4.

A Specimen of Welsh Preaching

A manuscript copy, [c. 1827] (watermark 1825), of 'A Specimen of Welsh Preaching', being an English translation of part of the noted sermon by Christmas Evans on 'The Fall and Recovery of Man', presented within the story of a Welsh minister in Bristol relating the sermon to his English colleagues.
Versions of the 'Specimen' were published multiple times in periodicals in Britain and America in the nineteenth century (see for example The Religious Examiner, 4 (1831), 183-185) and other manuscript copies also exist (for example NLW MS 11532C). The sermon is discussed in Tim Shenton, Christmas Evans: The Life and Times of the One-eyed Preacher of Wales (Darlington, 2001), pp. 410-413.
