Notebook of William Jones ('Gwilym Brynaman', 1867-1915), of Brynaman, co. Carmarthen, and Los Angeles, California, containing mathematical exercises, 1887 (pp. 1-36), and fair copies of poems, mostly in Welsh, composed by him, 1902-14, and including poems entered for competition at eisteddfodau in North America and Wales.

Pedigree and achievement of Edward Kerry (d. ca. 1698), Binweston, parish of Worthen, Shropshire, traced from Gwernen ap Gwaeddgar, lord of Bromfield and Iâl, Llyr Marini, king of Gloucester, and King Pelinor, with twenty-five other coats of arms, all emblazoned and painted, apparently copied by Joseph Patrick, 1792.

Papers relating to David Ivor Davies (Ivor Novello, 1893-1951), composer, actor and playwright, comprising an autograph extract from his play I Live With You (London, 1932) (ff. 1-6); letters, 1979-1982, from associates of Ivor Novello, received by Crispin Thomas while researching 'Dear Ivor', a theatrical production based on the life of Ivor Novello, first performed at Exeter in 1980 (ff. 7-22); photographs of the Welsh National Opera's production of 'Dear Ivor', 1983 (ff. 23-4); together with a copy of a memorial tribute to Ivor Novello and theatre programmes, 1933-45, of productions of his works.

A register of criminals apprehended by Cardiganshire Constabulary, 1897-1933, with physical descriptions of prisoners and details of previous convictions. Photographs are included of most of those sentenced between 1897 and 1909.

Fifteen letters, 1816-28, written by William Michell (ca. 1774-1829), vicar of Llantrisant, co. Glamorgan, to his father Dr John Michell, vicar of Fairford, co. Gloucester (4), his mother (10), and his brother Major Edward T. Michell (1), containing mainly news and gossip about the gentry of counties Brecon and Glamorgan, in whose society he moved; included in the last letter is a survey, 1828, of the Michell family estate in Huish Episcopi, co. Somerset.

William Haggar was a showman and travelling film-maker who spent a great deal of time in South Wales producing and showing his films.

Over a hundred letters, 1894-5, mostly in English, with a few in French, Welsh and German, to the lawyer and scientist Dr Alfred Daniell (1853-1937) from various correspondents, including family friends and colleagues, relating to both personal and professional matters. Also included are a few financial papers, rough notes by the recipient, and printed material, 1894-6, chiefly scientific papers in French and German.

Five letters, 1838, to George Thomas (1806-68), Swansea, solicitor, from his future wife Maria Frances Pringle (b. 1820), Milford Haven, co. Pembroke (4), containing personal and family news, and from his mother Barbara Thomas, Rock House, Briton Ferry, co. Glamorgan (1), concerning his engagement to be married, together with an undated letter from Mrs Thomas to Sarah Thomas, Mumbles, Swansea. Also included are mathematical exercies, 1788, by George Thomas's father, Commander George Thomas, RN, and printed abstracts of accounts, 1837, of Swansea Canal Navigation, with list of shareholders.

T. J. & J. Smith's Small Scribbling Diary ... 1887, with brief entries, probably in the hand of Frederick George Wynn (1853-94), Glynllifon, Llandwrog, co. Caernarfon, mainly recording visits to and excursions with friends and relations. The volume includes records of rainfall at Fort Belan, Llanwnda, co. Caernarfon, 1882-7, and rainfall and weather conditions at Glynllifon, 1887 (ff. 63-5). Six contemporary family photographs found inside the diary are now contained in a pocket inside the back cover.

An account written in 1964 by Charles Heber Humphreys of the ironmonger's, chemist's and grocer's shop of C. Humphreys & Son, Llanfair Caereinion, co. Montgomery, founded by his grandfather, Cadwaladr Humphreys (1804-1841), in 1829 and sold in 1933.
