Royal warrant, 10 February 1855, appointing Conrad Potgieter, esq., assistant commissary general of stores, provisions, and forage in H.M. Forces; a royal warrant, 10 November 1871, appointing Conrad Frederick Potgieter, esq., deputy controller in the Control Department of H.M. Army; a passport, 24 November 1883, issued to C. F. Potgieter to travel on the continent accompanied by his wife and niece; and a receipted tailor's bill, 1868, in respect of a sum due from Assistant Commissary General Potgeiter.
Documents relating to Emil Carl Haag,
Photocopies of official documents held by the Public Record Office relating to Lt Col. Emil Carl Haag of Carmarthen, who served with the 18th Hussars on the North-West Frontier of India with the Tochi Field Force and in the Tirah expedition. He served also through the South African War, being present at the defence of Ladysmith, and was wounded and mentioned three times in dispatches. Later he joined the South African Constabulary, and was in the Imperial Yeomanry. He served in the Great War with the South Wales Mounted Brigade. Articles relating to him were published in the Carmarthenshire Antiquary, volumes xxxv (1999), xxxvii (2001) and xlvi (2010).

Five documents relating to the clerical career of the Reverend Watkin Herbert, including his letters of ordination, 1822-1823, and a licence to the perpetual curacy of Llanycrwys, county Carmarthen, 1853; a letter, 1826, to the Reverend Watkin Herbert, Nash, Pembroke, from his brother Morgan Herbert, Lampeter; and an apprenticeship indenture, 1853, of William Herbert, son of the Reverend Watkin Herbert, late curate of Llandebie, to a druggist at Carmarthen.

Documents relating to the Commonwealth,
A collection of documents, 1651-[19 cent., first ½], relating to the Commonwealth and Protectorate in England. They include a warrant, 7 November 1651, from the Council of State, signed by its president John Bradshaw, authorising the merchant Charles Longland to act as their agent in Livorno, Tuscany, in supplying the parliamentarian fleet and providing intelligence (item i); a commission, 15 October 1655, from Oliver Cromwell (signed 'Oliver P.'), appointing George Langford as chirurgeon [surgeon] in Col. Goffe's regiment of horse (item ii); and a further commission, 11 July 1659, from Parliament, signed by W[illia]m Lenthall, Speaker, appointing Langford to the rank of Cornet in a troop of horse under Col. Thomas Saunders (item iii).
Also included is an engraving, 1793, of a 1654 portrait of William Lenthall (item iv); and an engraving, [19 cent., first ½], depicting the trial of Charles I (item v). Two of the documents have papered seals affixed: Cromwell's private seal (item ii) and the seal of the Council of State (Item i).

The present transcript lacks the dedicatory letter to King James I, the earlier part of the 'Abstracts and Advertisements concerning the Contents ...', and the first page and a half of the text.

Certificate, 1816, and instructions, 1816, 1846, relating to the pension of Evan Griffiths, Dolgellau, Merionethshire, wounded at the Battle of Waterloo whilst serving with the Coldstream Guards and now an out-pensioner of the Royal Hospital at Chelsea (ff. 1-3). Also included is the appointment of Griffiths and others as Overseers of the Poor for Dolgellau, 7 April 1846 (f. 4).
