See also NLW MSS 100B, which contains what is said to be the original manuscript, written 1604 and 1605, of the History, but which does not contain the preface which appeared in the printed work; 408D (previously Hengwrt 224), which contains a seventeenth century transcript of the work; 413D (previously Peniarth 20), which contains a seventeenth century copy of what appears to be a draft of the work, with some differences between draft and revised text, including a second dedicatory epistle to the Queen included in the manuscript; and 11570B, which contains a seventeenth century copy of the History (the number of folios at the end of the copy, comprising all but one page of 'The Earldome of Chester', are wanting). See also NLW MS 1522D, which contains a nineteenth century transcript of that portion of the History which relates to Wales.
