A copy, in the same hand, of an undated covering letter from 'Gweirydd ap Rhys' to [Thomas Gruffydd] ('Tavalaw') indicates that the 'Sketch' was prepared with a view to the formation by 'Tavalaw' of a petition for a 'Civil Annual Grant' for 'Gweirydd ap Rhys'.
