Papers of John Morgan Howell of Aberaeron, 1871-1960, including exercise books containing a memorandum for 1871 and a history, in Welsh, of Dr Thomas Phillips, Neuaddlwyd, by J. M. Howell; books of press cuttings containing articles relating to Aberaeron, 1873-1931, operas, 1920-1960 (collected by G[eraint] M. Howell), and the poetry, 1889-1921, of Margaret Aeron Davies; and articles by J. M. Howell, 1897; family correspondence, 1888-1926, and miscellaneous letters and papers, 1875-1946; a volume of typescript copies of Christmas carols in Welsh composed by J. M. Howell, collected and bound by J. The archive represents the working papers of a major ironworking dynasty.

Papers of and relating to the novelist John Cowper Powys (1872-1963) and other members of his family, including his correspondence with family, friends and associates, as well as published and unpublished literary works, diaries, lectures, essays, and material relating to his estate and literary executorship. Also included are correspondence and literary and personal papers of Powys's companion Phyllis Playter (1893-1982), as well as personal and estate papers of members of the Powys family including his father, Charles Francis Powys, his paternal grandfather, Littleton Charles Powys, his uncle, Littleton Alfred Powys, his aunts, the Johnson sisters, and his nephew, Francis Llewellyn Powys.

Contains material relating to Gwynfor Evans' election campaigns in the Carmarthen Constituency as well as various publications and ephemera related to Gwynfor Evans' career, material relating to his funeral and a service celebrating his life. Photographic material has been transferred to the NLW National Welsh Photograph Collection. A sound recording on a vinyl record has been transferred to the National Screen and sound Archive of Wales.

Archive comprises the papers of the Welsh Conservative Party group within the National Assembly for Wales including minutes, agendas and papers for group meetings, Material related to policy development and manifestos for elections to the National Assembly for Wales, material related to the organisation of the group and the Conservative Party in Wales and subject files including files on the party's position on the creation of the post of Children's Commissioner for Wales and the Government of Wales Act 2006.
