Ceir nodiadau ar gynnwys rhai o'r eitemau yn llaw Gwawr Morris, gweddw John Meirion Morris. = Papers of the sculptor, draughtsman and teacher John Meirion Morris (1936-2020), which relate to various aspects of his professional life from his early career as a newly-qualified teacher to his final years. The items include material relating to John Meirion Morris' sculpture commissions; his publications, such as A Celtic Vision (Y Lolfa, 2003); articles written and lectures given by him; his collaboration with the media, the National Eisteddfod, Gweled and the Glynllifon Group project; and correspondence sent to John Meirion Morris from Welsh institutions and from friends, acquaintances and admirers. There are notes on the contents of some of the items in the hand of Gwawr Morris, widow of John Meirion Morris.

Original records, copies of official records, copies of press cuttings, copies of photographs, research notes and draft publications, 1914-2022, relating to fire services in south, west and central Wales, collected and compiled by Keith Mills and including the work of a number of research collaborators (mostly former firefighters), as well as correspondence between them and Keith Mills.

Papers and publications created and collected by Glyn Mathias in the course of his career related to his career in journalism including his role in broadcasting from the UK Parliament, along with his work for OFCOM, Dwr Cymru and the Electoral Commission.

The collection includes deeds and documents, 1626-1871, relating to members of Griffith Evans's family; family personalia, [c. 1830]-1887; portraits and photographs, 1852-1931; professional diplomas awarded to Griffith Evans, 1855-1870; papers deriving from his career, 1872-1917; papers relating to the discovery of Trypanosoma Evansi in Surra, 1880-1935; general tributes paid to Griffith Evans, 1931-1935; tributes paid to him on the occasion of his hundredth birthday and papers relating to the birthday celebrations, 1935; miscellaneous papers found in his wallet after his death; extracts from diaries and notes made with a view to the preparation of an autobiography, 1869-1942; extracts from letters and books made by Dr Erie Evans; academic notes and transcriptions of documents made by Griffith Evans; offprints, monographs and other printed materials, 1822-1931; religious questionnaires, 1926, on personal attitudes towards religion and religious experiences; general correspondence, 1857-1935, addressed to Griffith Evans; press cuttings; miscellaneous photographs and prints; and extracts from Griffith Evans's journal of his visit to North America from Canada, 1864.

The music manuscripts of the composer David Harries, 1952-1995, comprising mainly drafts and scores of chamber and instrumental music, orchestral music, choral and organ, and voice and piano arrangements.
A second donation made in August 2021 contains further music manuscripts of David Harries, 1953-1993, and includes works by Harries' contemporary William Mathias (1934-1992) in addition to Harries' own compositions of chamber and instrumental music, orchestral music, choral and organ, and voice and piano arrangements.

Thomas, Jan Morris, Iris Murdoch, y cenedlaetholwr Basgaidd Txillardegi a'r awduron Rwsiaidd Nawm Odnoposof a Nicita Sabolotsci. = Papers of Ned Thomas, 1962-2022, comprising letters and other papers relating to writers, poets, translators, journalists and other figures of his acquaintance working mostly in Welsh, English, minority European languages such as Basque and Catalan, and Russian, including Esyllt T. Lawrence, Emyr Humphreys, R. S. Thomas, Jan Morris, Iris Murdoch, the Basque nationalist Txillardegi and the Russian writers Naoum Odnopozov and Nikita Zabolotsky.

Papers of Caryl Roese, 1940-2016, including two scrapbooks relating to her career, copies of theses written by her and genealogical notes compiled by her husband Herbert Roese, together with the papers of Herbert Roese, 1976-2017, including copies of theses written by him.

The archive comprises speeches, papers and presentations, 1973-1999, on educational issues given by Hywel Ceri Jones, mainly while he was an official with the European Commission with responsibility for education and training. A list of speeches is included in box 1.

= Material relating to the struggle on the part of the residents of the village of Llangyndeyrn during the first half of the 1960s to save theirs and other communities in the Gwendraeth Valley from being drowned by Swansea Corporation in order to create a reservoir to meet the domestic and industrial needs of West Glamorgan. The material was collated by the Reverend William Merfyn Rees, secretary of the Llangyndeyrn Defence Committee, and his son, Hywel Gealy Rees, editor of the book Sefyll yn y Bwlch: Brwydr Llangyndeyrn 1960-1965 (Y Lolfa, 2013) (see note below). The items include two files containing 1960s press cuttings chronicling the Llangyndeyrn residents' struggle, together with more recent press cuttings; letters of support for the stand taken by Llangyndeyrn's residents against Swansea Corporation sent to Reverend W. M. Rees; material relating to notable dates, celebrations and anniversaries in the history of Llangyndeyrn's fight for justice; and references to books and poems commemorating the success of the fight. Several items are annotated, most likely in the hand of Hywel Gealy Rees.

Appended are printed notes detailing the nature and location of non-print material which forms part of this archive and which has been transferred to other departments within NLW; together with a printed list of notable dates in the history of Llangyndeyrn's fight for victory.

Papers of Anglo-Welsh poet, writer and lecturer Nigel Jenkins, comprising draft and fair-copy poetry, prose and plays, including material relating to published poetry and prose works and to collaborative arts projects ; material relating to lectures, talks and readings given by Nigel Jenkins and others and to poetry workshops run by him; material relating to Nigel Jenkins' period of study at the University of Essex, to his incarceration in HM Prison Swansea and to his various affiliations and associations, including literary organisations and the peace movement; correspondence of Nigel Jenkins; literary and other notes made by Nigel Jenkins; and printed books in his possession which have been inscribed by or to Nigel Jenkins. The collection also includes papers and publications of other poets and writers, principally those of the multi-lingual sound/concrete poet and verbal/visual artist Peter Meilleur ('Childe Roland').

The records comprise a school log book, 1950-1969; a pupils' leaving book, 1957-1968; newspaper cuttings, [1965x1975]; notes compiled by the donor about his father, TG Richards, [2016]; photocopy of a short history of the School, written in 1967; and a CD containing scenes of school events and activities, compiled from 8mm cine film taken by TG Richards in the 1960s.

Papers relating to Equilibre Horse Theatre, Abercegir, near Machynlleth. Items include material relating to marketing, recruitment and mentoring, the hiring and input of collaborating artists and the running of workshops, media productions, funding and awards; posters, flyers, etc relating to events and productions; preparatory research and creative notes; employment/health and safety policies; accounts and expenditure; minutes of meetings; and correspondence.

Papers of Thomas Owen ('Hesgin'), 1904-1956, comprising letters received, and copies of letters written by him to various newspapers and individuals, 1940-1956; literary compositions, including essays and short stories, submitted by him for competition at various eisteddfodau, including the National Eisteddfod of Wales; two volumes of autobiographical essays and reminiscences; nine volumes of press cuttings, mainly of articles by 'Hesgin' which appeared in newspapers and other publications, 1904-1956; scrapbooks and notebooks; and a minute book and other material relating to the Swansea district committee formed in connection with the National Petition for the Legal Recognition of the Welsh Language in Wales, 1938-1939.

Manuscript, typescript, printed and digital material (comprising text, images, film and sound recordings) created as part of the 'Layers in the Landscape' project, which applied the concept of interdisciplinary and non-hierarchical 'deep mapping' - as interpreted by Mike Pearson, Michael Shanks and Cliff McLucas - to the submerged landscape of Cardigan Bay, and in particular the submerged forest at Borth; this ‘deep mapping’ would be both a process and a product, juxtaposing and combining disparate spatial narratives within a single multi-faceted platform. Originally inspired by the story of Bendigeidfran in the Second Branch of the Mabinogi (‘Branwen uerch Lyr’) and the myth of Cantre'r Gwaelod, and based on the academic work of Erin Kavanagh, the project brought together specialists from a range of creative and scientific disciplines to produce a response to the flooding of Cardigan Bay over 125,000 years under the umbrella of geomythology, which is the study of landscape and story. The results were presented in the form of both academic work and multimedia public events, including the 'Borth's Lost Legends' exhibition at Borth Station Museum (July-September 2017), the 'Layers in Lampeter' exhibition at University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) Lampeter (November 2017 - February 2022) and the 'Penrolio' performance at UWTSD Lampeter (January 2018). The theory of communication without hierarchy was tested by taking the project to as many different cultures, age groups and environments as possible (including art galleries, museums, schools, colleges, WI meetings, cinemas, cadet huts and village halls - the ‘Layers in the Landscape’ film alone has been shown in at least 14 countries around the world), and public responses to the project were treated as part of it. The project was funded primarily by the Independent Social Research Foundation (ISRF) with support from UWTSD and private sponsors.

The collection, 1735-1778, comprises a 'short account' of Howell Harris's life, a long series of diaries, 1735-1772, memoranda, 'observations' and notes, prayers, a few letters, a note, 1742, on the differences between Howell Harris (and John Whitefield) and John Wesley, a statement, 1744, on Harris's intended marriage, extracts from diaries, spiritual observations, minutes of associations, miscellaneous memoranda and receipts, and a series of notes relating to 'affairs at Trevecka'.
