Papers, 1962; 1972-1984, relating to the Welsh Arts Council exhibition ‘Alfred Janes: A Retrospective’ (1974), including marketing material, lists of works, and correspondence.

The series contains papers relating to a wide variety of the Federation's activities including the minutes and correspondence of several committees. There are also papers concerning the Federation's links with outside bodies, including the Welsh Arts Council.

The file includes letters from the Welsh Arts Council (24), 1969-1987, the Western Mail (50), 1936-1987, the West Wales Association for the Arts (17), 1975-1988, Professor Mary Williams (8), 1973-1974, the Women's International Art Club (10), 1947-1956, and Roger Worsley (34), 1972-1996.

Letters, 2006-2011 and undated, from Tony Curtis, the recipients comprising: the independent bookshop Crockatt & Powell (18 December 2006); the New Welsh Review magazine (printout dated 21 November 2007 and undated letter); Sarah Lewis of University of Wales Press, relating to Tony Curtis (ed.): The Meaning of Apricot Sponge: Selected Writings of John Tripp (Parthian Books, 2010) (3 November 2008); and David Alston of the Welsh Arts Council (undated letter, and possibly also printout dated 25 April 2011).

The file contains correspondence, 1973-1974, accumulated by Sally Roberts Jones and Alison Bielski as joint secretaries of the English Language Section of the Academi. Included are letters from Richard Jones, accepting a nomination for membership of the section, from Paul Ferris declining an offer of membership, and from Jan Morris, expressing her gratitude to the Academi for the invitation to join and stating that she would understand if the invitation were to be withdrawn in view of the treatment she'd recently undergone. There is also correspondence with Meic Stephens of the Welsh Arts Council regarding the imminent appointment of a Literature Officer who will devote half his or her time to the administrating of the English Language Section of the Academi. A similar officer will be appointed for the Welsh Section. There is correspondence with Pamela Parry-Jones following her appointment to the English Language Section post in January 1974. The file also includes an application by the English Language Section for membership of International P.E.N. and a reply from them, accepting the section as members.

The file contains correspondence with Astrid Lindgren together with papers and publicity material relating to her visit to Wales to receive the Welsh Arts Council's International Writer's Prize in October 1978.
