The second group, described here, comprises the personal political papers of the Rev. J. Roger Roberts. These include electoral ephemera, minutes, newspaper cuttings, reports and letters mostly relating to the Liberal Party / Liberal/SDP (Social Democratic Party) Alliance / Liberal Democratic Party, and in particular to the Liberal Party in the Conwy Constituency mainly between 1950 and 1999. The first group, donated in 1997, and described elsewhere, also contains some personal political papers relating to the Liberal Party, in particular to the Conwy Constituency, between 1946 and 1993. These include newsletters, leaflets, various publications, manifetstos, policy and constitutional papers, annual reports, newspaper cuttings, correspondence and minutes.

Papers, 1885-1955, from the collection of Roderic Bowen, comprising letters from his father Evan Bowen, and also correspondence and papers relating to the Cardiganshire Liberal Association and the Churchill Presentation Fund.

D. Roberts; notes, etc. relating to Denbighshire and Flintshire and on Katherine of Berain (1534/5-1591), Iolo Goch (c. 1320-1398) and Sir Robert Jones (1858-1933); poetry by Roberts and others.

They include letter books of outgoing letters sent from both England and India, 1752-1774; Clive's financial records, mainly relating to his financial concerns in India, 1752-1774; estate and household records, 1761-1781; records relating to his official duties in India, particularly as governor of Bengal, including records he acquired of earlier East India Company employees, 1727-1772, political papers, including canvassing lists and poll books, [c. 1761]-1775; and records of Clive's trustees and executors, 1774-1791.

Papers, printed material, photographs and maps pertaining to the River Wye and River Usk fisheries, including Wye River Board fishery committee minutes, the personal papers and publications of J.A. Hutton (former Chair of the Wye Fishery Board), and diaries and correspondence of R. Pashley (the 'Wizard of the Wye'); both Hutton and Pashley are substantial figures from the early 20th century concerning the Wye salmon stock and fishery.

Deeds and documents, 1514-1813, collected by Richard Williams of Celynog, relating mostly to properties in Montgomeryshire as well as Flintshire, Merionethshire and Shropshire, including the township of Rhandregynwen, Llandysilio, Montgomeryshire, 1581-1605, the township of Bodaioch, Trefeglwys, Montgomeryshire, 1562-1630, and Treuddyn, Flintshire, 1621-1639; and depositions of witnesses, 1580, taken at the Court of the Council of Wales and the Marches, concerning a case of trespass.
There appears to be no single family unifying these deeds, however some individuals and families appear several times: Ieuan ap Richard of Domgay, Ieuan ap Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Sais and his son Gruffith ap Ieuan, Llandysilio, Montgomeryshire (Rhandregynwen deeds), the Pope family of Shropshire (Trefeglwys deeds) and Rees ap John William and Lewis ap John Merton of Treuddyn, Flintshire (Treuddyn deeds).

A collection, [1842x1922], consisting mainly of correspondence, miscellaneous papers, etc., relating to the religious and civic activities of Richard Rees (Maldwyn).

Manuscripts, 1707-[1937], from the library of Richard Bennett of Llanbrynmair and Caersws, Montgomeryshire, much of which is in the hand of Richard Bennett himself. The collection comprises material largely of Montgomeryshire interest and includes parochial records, transcripts from parish registers, extracts from probate records (some of Merionethshire interest) and genealogical records, and extracts from printed works relating to Montgomeryshire.
