Scope and content

General correspondence of Daniel Jones, with one letter addressed to Irene (née Goodchild), Daniel Jones's second wife, the contents largely concerning Daniel Jones's musical and literary work and the life and work of poet and writer Dylan Thomas, for whom Daniel Jones acted as literary executor. Correspondents include orchestral conductor Sir Adrian Boult; poet and translator (and friend of Dylan Thomas) Vernon Watkins; poet and film-maker John Ormond; Llewelyn Thomas, son of Dylan Thomas; orchestral conductor and cellist Sir John Barbirolli; singer, orchestral conductor, broadcaster, presenter and reviewer Bernard Keeffe; and Nicolette Devas (née Macnamara), sister of Dylan Thomas's wife Caitlin. Together with what appears to be an unsigned copy of a letter, 24 February 1953, presumably from Daniel Jones, in relation to a BBC broadcast about Dylan Thomas, attached to which is a reproduced photograph of Dylan Thomas and related information taken from a printed source.
Letters from Daniel Jones are typescript copies.
