'Yr Argyfwng' was published in book form posthumously in 1956.

Family trees and genealogical notes and extracts relating to the Richards family of Cardiff and the Edwards family of Llandaff House (ff. 1-14 verso); historical notes relating to Wales and the Marches (ff. 15-26 verso); a licence, dated 1 December 1823 and signed by George IV and [Sir] Charles George Young, granting Thomas William Richards the right to adopt the surname of Edwards and to bear the arms of that family (f. 27); notes relating to the murder of William Powell of Glanareth, Carmarthenshire in 1770 (ff. 28-30); letters to Thomas William Edwards from Francis E. Stacey, 1848, ?vicar of Cardiff, and from Thomas [?John] Powell, rector of Llanhamlach, 1857, both relating to genealogical matters (ff. 31-34); and an extract from the pedigree of George Rice Rice-Trevor, 4th baron Dynevor (f. 35).

Autograph specifications, dated February 1923, or work required in the restoration of the Priory House, Penmon, Anglesey by Geoffrey G[osset] Holme, architect, of Penmon. The manuscript contains architectural sketches (ff. 9, 10, 13, 15, 16, 20, 30) and provisional sums (estimated amounts) relating to the restoration work. (f. 31).

The revised and heavily corrected final three pages, 1931, in John Cowper Powys's hand, of his novel A Glastonbury Romance (London, 1932) (ff. 1-3); Powys apparently rewrote the ending at the instigation of Phyllis Playter, who suggested the changes subsequently made to the original text.
Also included is correspondence, 1955-1957, of a Mr Baston, then owner of the novel's manuscript, comprising letters from Powys, 27 July 1955 (f. 4), and the US publishing house Simon & Schuster, 2 September 1955 (f. 6), with a carbon copy letter from Baston to Simon & Schuster, 15 August 1955 (f. 5), concerning Baston’s efforts to find the manuscript's missing chapters, and a letter from the bookseller George Sims, 28 January 1957, offering the present three folios to Baston (f. 7).

Some one hundred and seventy-five original poems by Ruth Bidgood, 1966-2011, mostly typescript, some are emended and a few are in manuscript (ff. 208, 212, 214, 216-217, 219).
The majority of the poems have appeared in various periodicals, as recorded by the author on the individual folios. A few only have subsequently been published in collections, including 'Cwm Pennant' (ff. 132-133) and 'Encounters with Angels' (ff. 195-201) in Symbols of Plenty (Norwich, 2006), 'Complaints' (ff. 66-71, 187-189) and 'Bringing Home the Bride' (ff. 169-170) in Hearing Voices (Blaenau Ffestiniog, 2008), and a revised version of 'Reading a Landscape' (ff. 177-181) in Time Being (Bridgend, 2009). 'The Zombie-makers' (f. 38) and 'Brianne 1970' (f. 42) were first published in Matthew Jarvis, Ruth Bidgood (Cardiff, 2012), pp. 133-134. There are multiple copies or drafts of some poems, including 'Complaints' (ff. 66-71, 187-189), 'Summerers' (ff. 129, 152), 'Apparition' (ff. 171, 208), 'Reading a Landscape' (ff. 177-181), 'Windblow' (ff. 182, 218-219), 'Elan in Autumn' (ff. 193, 213-217) and 'Looms' (ff. 194, 210). A list of contents (for ff. 1-194) in the hand of the author is ff. i-ii; the order has subsequently been revised by her. Since the author usually disposed of typescripts once the poems had been collected, this volume includes rare examples of her work.

Minute book, 1874-1946, recording Parish Vestry meetings, 1874-1894 (ff. 2-31 verso, English and Welsh), and parish meetings, 1894-1946 (ff. 32 verso-78, English) of Ysgubor-y-coed, Cardiganshire.
Minutes, 1894-1895, of the first few Parish Council meetings are included in the volume (ff. 33 verso-36, 37); these were later copied into the new Parish Council minute book (now NLW MS 16621C). Meetings during the period 1941-1943 relate to a wartime Salvage and Book Drive (ff. 76-77).

Typescript copy of 'The "Dolwyddelen" Family', compiled by R. E. Jones, Wabasha, Minnesota, 1937, being a history of the Jones family of Tanycastell, Dolwyddelan, Caernarfonshire, intended as an introduction to the "Family Wheel" by Edward L. Williams, Wisconsin (now NLW Rolls 73), together with a copy of the Tanycastell pedigree (ff. 13-14), and related typescript notes and verses, 1936, by R. E. Jones (f. 1).

A collection of papers, 1831-1949, relating to John Jones ('Talhaiarn'), accumulated by his great-niece Lilian M. Jones.
They include holograph poems and lyrics in English and Welsh, [1843]-1868, mostly composed, but some copied, by Talhaiarn (ff. 1-24). Also included are fifty-three letters, 1857-1868, from the poet to his niece, Elizabeth Anne Jones, with some holograph poems appended (ff. 25-124); seven letters, 1848-1869, from him to family members and his publisher W. J. Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd') (ff. 125-37); four letters, 1869-1870, to his brother Thomas Jones (ff. 147-54), including three from John Thomas ('Pencerdd Gwalia'); a letter, 1870, from John Thomas ('Pencerdd Gwalia') to Elizabeth Jones (ff. 155-6); and three letters, 1939-1940, to Lilian Jones (ff. 157-60). In addition, the file contains various papers relating to Talhaiarn and his family, including the signed title page of his second volume of works, 1862 (f. 161), lists of subscribers to his third volume of works (ff. 163-4), and to the Talhaiarn Annuity Fund, 1864 (ff. 166 verso-167); administrative papers, 1869-1871, relating to his estate (ff. 169-83); press cuttings, 1869-1949 (mainly 1869-1870) (ff. 184-99); and various papers, including a copy of Talhaiarn's 'Gorsedd Prayer' in an unknown hand (f. 205). Among the works by Talhaiarn are the holograph poems to his niece, Elizabeth Anne Jones (ff. 1, 2, 4-8, 23, 42-3), 'The Zephyr and the Rose' (f. 9), 'Diver' (ff. 10-13), 'Psalm' (f. 14-15, 67), and the printed lyrics of 'A part song on the coming of age of William Grenville Williams', Bodelwyddan, 1865 (f. 17). Also included is a cutting of a tribute by Talhaiarn to Sir Joseph Paxton (f. 17 verso).

Papers, 1868-1870, relating to the building of Penybont, Llanfair Talhaiarn, Denbighshire, including five letters from the architect, John Jones ('Talhaiarn') (NLW MS 16094iE, ff. 1-8), two letters from his brother, Thomas Jones (NLW MS 16094iE, ff. 9-12), one of which was forwarded by Cecilia Roberts, owner of Penybont, to her brother and sister, and accounts (NLW MS 16094iE, ff. 13-16); together with architect's drawings (NLW MS 16094iiG).

Music book, [1740x1918], of John Davies ('Siôn Dafydd y Crydd'), bookbinder, cobbler and musician, of Llanfihangel Ystrad, Cardiganshire, consisting mainly of notes on the theory of music and psalmody, largely transcribed from the works of William Tans'ur and others.
Also included is an epitaph to John Davies, apparently composed by David Davies, Castell Hywel (f. 86 verso), together with a related note, 1918, by John Jones, Aberaeron (f. 87).

A notebook containing a translation by 'Paul' of the poem 'Myfanwy Fychan' by John Ceiriog Hughes ('Ceiriog'), probably submitted for competition at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Llangollen, 1908. For 'Ceiriog's original autograph poem see NLW MS 239B.

Journal of a tour, July-November 1819, by a Mr and Mrs Woolrych, commencing in Redhill, [?Surrey], and proceeding into Wales where they visited parts of Denbighshire, Merioneth, Caernarvonshire, Anglesey, Cardiganshire, Radnorshire and (briefly) Monmouthshire.
Included in the itinerary were Worcester and Great Malvern (pp. 2-23), Shrewsbury (pp. 25-43), Snowdonia (pp. 47-112 passim), Bangor (pp. 50-53, 57-60), Anglesey (pp. 64-72, 79), Caernarfon (pp. 82-89), Dolgellau (pp. 120-151), Barmouth (pp. 151-160), Aberystwyth (pp. 165-174), and Hereford (pp. 178-187). The writers of the journal are possibly Humphry William and Penelope Woolrych of Hertfordshire.

The typescripts include a transcript, 1955, of a register of church members, 1806-1864 (ff. 6-37), with indexes of surnames and places (ff. 38-51); an incomplete transcript, 1950, of the original register of births, 1804-1837, and deaths, 1807-1814 (ff. 55-62), with an index of names (ff. 63-64); and a transcript, 1955, of part of an early history of the Church, probably written by Thomas Hopkins, a founding member of the Church (ff. 2-4). A covering letter from the donor, 22 July 1955, is included (f. i).

A volume, [early 19 cent.]-1851, used as a letter book by William Williams of Carne [Carnecoch], Llanwnda, Pembrokeshire. The volume contains copies of letters, September 1834-March 1842 (pp. 325-447), March 1842-June 1843 (pp. 457-473) and June 1843-April 1851 (pp. 45-264), mainly concerning the rents, tenancies, repairs and management of the estates of D. Davies and the Rev. Edward Jones in the parishes of Little Newcastle, Dinas and St Davids, Pembrokeshire, and the estate of Mrs Amy Skeel and Mrs. Williams (mother of William Williams) in Kibworth Harcourt, Leicestershire.
Also in the hand of William Williams are farm accounts [?for Carnecoch], October 1832-August 1833 (pp. 40-43). The volume also contains, in a different hand, [early 19 cent.], miscellaneous extracts, notes and memoranda, including medical, veterinary and domestic recipes (pp. 2-38, 448-455, 475-479), extracts from John [sic] Claude's observations on the composition of sermons (see Jean Claude, An Essay on the Composition of a Sermon, translated from the original French by Robert Robinson, 2 vols (Cambridge, 1778-1779, ESTC T138627)) (pp. 267-307), and 'Concerning the time when Christianity was first preached in Great Britain, and by whom' (pp. 309-323).

Rhennir y traethawd yn un bennod ar ddeg (ff. 2-65) a cheir ynddi gyfeiriadau at ffigurau nodedig, gan gynnwys athronwyr o'r oes Glasurol hyd y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg; mae yna restr cynnwys ar f. 1. It is known that three entrants attempted the essay and that the prize was won by John Jones, Meirion House, Tanygrisiau (see Y Dydd, 4 January 1884, p. 7), but it has not been possible to ascertain if he was 'Myfyr'.
