A manuscript address, in Welsh, February 1964, by T. I. Ellis, on Welsh politicians and politics in the previous century; it was delivered at a meeting of Cymdeithas y Bedol, 6 March 1964.

The political diaries of Lord Roberts of Conwy from 1970 to 1996 divided into 18 volumes. The diaries cover most of Lord Roberts' time as Member of Parliament for Conwy and his entire career at the Welsh Office and include letters, newpaper cuttings and pictures added by Lord Roberts. Many subject are covered including the establishment of S4C, Welsh language legislation, inward investment, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, Northern Ireland, the bombing of the Conservative Party conference in Brighton by the IRA in 1984, general elections and the European Union.

Papers of William George, Criccieth, consisting of his personal and family correspondence, diaries and notes, 1881-1960, and papers relating to his publications and public life (including political, legal, religious and Welsh cultural material), 1883-1958, together with diaries, 1881-1915, of Richard Lloyd ('Uncle Lloyd'), and a considerable amount of correspondence and other papers relating to members of the George family, the Lloyd family and the Lloyd George family, 1766-1981. Of particular interest is a very substantial group of papers of David Lloyd George, including: correspondence with William George, mostly 1886-1918; diaries, 1878-1892; letters from prominent politicians, 1879-1913; other letters, including many to family members, 1883-1928; letters from his secretaries, 1906-1963; and working drafts and notes in preparation for his speeches.

The series comprises correspondence and papers relating to the government and local government of Wales including the devolution campaigns.

The collection consists of election addresses, leaflets, circulars and other printed matter, 1837-1999, generally acquired before the establishment of the Welsh Political Archive; election addresses, leaflets etc., 1905-2024, collected by the WPA; and printed materials, 1887-2025, concerning the political parties in Wales, various pressure groups and organisations, subject files, and other miscellaneous papers.

The collection consists of papers relating to the Interim Federal Policy Committee, 1988-1989, the Association of Social and Liberal Democrat Councillors, 1988-1991, the Federal Executive of the SLD, 1990, copies of the Federal Green Papers, 1988, the Social and Liberal Democrats, 1986-1989, the Welsh Liberal Democrats, 1987-1991, the formation of the Social and Liberal Democrtas, 1988, the Brecon and Radnor Liberal Democrats, 1988-1990, local elections, 1988-1991, and application forms of prospective parliamentary candidates, c. 1988-1991.

Material, including reports, strategies, proposals and correspondence, relating to the Welsh devolution referendum of 1997.

The series comprises miscellaneous correspondence and papers, 1913-1917 and 1941-1981, relating to Welsh politics and Welsh affairs, many concerning devolution, the Welsh slate industry, broadcasting and publishing.

Papers of the Wales for the Assembly campaign, 1975-1979, including minutes, correspondence and papers of the Wales for the Assembly Action Committee and Research Sub-committee, 1976-1977; minutes of the Campaign's committee meetings, 1978-1979; pamphlets and leaflets, 1979; publicity and speeches, 1978-1979; correspondence, 1975-1979; press statements, 1979; and miscellaneous papers, 1978-1979.

Papers of W. Llewelyn Williams, KC, MP, 1861-2005, comprising diaries, letters, professional papers, printed material, personal papers, and papers accumulated by his family after his death. The collection also includes the research papers of Neville C. Masterman relating to the life and political career of W. Llewelyn Williams.

Political correspondence and papers of Ted Spanswick, 1957-1994, relating in particular to Plaid Cymru, the EEC and the anti-Common Market campaign. Further papers not yet catalogued.

Speech notes and related material regarding the 1999 St David's Day debate which took place 26 February of that year.

The second group, described here, comprises the personal political papers of the Rev. J. Roger Roberts. These include electoral ephemera, minutes, newspaper cuttings, reports and letters mostly relating to the Liberal Party / Liberal/SDP (Social Democratic Party) Alliance / Liberal Democratic Party, and in particular to the Liberal Party in the Conwy Constituency mainly between 1950 and 1999. The first group, donated in 1997, and described elsewhere, also contains some personal political papers relating to the Liberal Party, in particular to the Conwy Constituency, between 1946 and 1993. These include newsletters, leaflets, various publications, manifetstos, policy and constitutional papers, annual reports, newspaper cuttings, correspondence and minutes.

The fonds comprises the papers of Robin Reeves including general subject files, 1967-1987; files concerning subjects of Welsh interest, 1973-1999; files concerning political subjects, 1974-1995; files relating to various organisations, societies, public bodies, newspapers etc., 1975-1996; files relating to various geographical areas in Wales, the British Isles and overseas, 1972-1995; files reflecting his literary interests and activities, 1978-1999; and miscellaneous papers, 1962-2001.

The papers, 1960-2003, reflect Councillor Ray Davies's life and the political campaigns and activities in which he was involved. Many are cuttings from local and national newspapers and other printed items. Some of the material reflects his campaigns in various elections, others the movements which he supported and in which he participated. A large number relate to the campaign against the community charge in the 1980s and 1990s. A few stem from his personal and family life.

Three lots of Councillor Ray Davies'r papers were received, 2006-2008. These remain uncatalogued.

Pre-election opinion polls, 1979-2004, comprising copies of the questionnaires used and tabulated results. The polls were carried out across Wales by NOP and Beaufort Research Limited, amongst others, to survey voting intentions and behaviour amongst representative samples of the Welsh electorate in various general elections, Welsh Assembly elections and the 2004 European Election. Issues such as devolution are also examined. The series also includes a report on British voting trends between 1979 and 1987.

Material relating to political activity, 1949-1963, with which Harri Webb appears to have been involved, comprising papers connected with the Parliament for Wales Campaign, 1954-1955; a number of leaflets and pamphlets relating to Plaid Cymru, 1955-1963; and some election guides, 1949-[c. 1963].

The fonds comprises minutes of the Liberal Democrats Wales Executive Committee, the Welsh Campaigns and Communications Committee, and the Finance and Administration Committee, 1988-1998. The papers were accumulated by Peter Black as a member of the Party, former chair of the Welsh Party, c. 1995-1997, and former chair of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Finance and Administration Committee.
