A holograph essay on 'Addysg yn Nghymru: Yn gosod allan ansawdd bresenol a neillduolion yr addysg a weinyddir; awgrymiad at ddiwygiad; yn nghyda'r pwysigrwydd o gysylltu Ysgolion Elfenol a'r sefydliadau Gramadegol a'r Colegau' written by 'Ofydd' [i.e., Hugh Pritchard, Llannerch-y-medd, co. Anglesey], and submitted for competition at the National Eisteddfod at Caernarfon [1880]. Bound in at the end of the volume is a cutting, from Baner ac Amserau Cymru, of the adjudication of Thomas Powell [sic], [University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire, Cardiff]. One half of the prize money was awarded to 'Meurig ap Iorwerth' ( Mr. M. E. Morris, Minffordd, Portmadoc, co. Caernarvon).

(published in Hugh Lloyd: 'Mrs. Anne Penny', Journal of the Welsh Bibliographical Society, vol. III (1925-1931), pp. 38-48); and three holograph letters, 1924, relating to Anne Penny and addressed to [Hugh] Lloyd [Liverpool] from H. I. Bell, British Museum, Mary Davies, London, and B. Schofield, British Museum.

Transcripts by the donor Alice V. Nissen of the journals, 1854-1909, of Mary Ann Chadwell (1817-1909), a cousin to the transcriber's great great great grandmother. The original diaries are held here (Baker-Gabb 1187-1205).

A typewritten transcript, with manuscript insertions, by K. M. Davies and W. Lloyd Davies, Bournemouth, of the enclosure award of Henllan Wastes and Denbigh Green, 1814. The transcript was made at the County Offices, Ruthin, in November 1936. Inset are a typewritten copy of the article on the award by W. Lloyd Davies which appeared in the Bulletin of the Board of Celtic Studies, Vol. IX, pp. 247-71, and a 'pull' of the map accompanying the article.

A manuscript of John Roberts ('Ieuan Gwyllt') used originally as a register of the pupils who enrolled in his school at Nanteos Arms [Capel Seion, near Aberystwyth] from its foundation on 12 June to 1 July 1839. The volume was subsequently used, [c. 1839-1840], to record hymn-tunes, hymns, metrical psalms, etc., by 'Ieuan Gwyllt', and notes of sermons by John Hughes, Pontrobert, [Thomas] Richards, Fishguard, David Howels, Thos. Evans, O. Williams, and H. Hughes, Llanrwst.

A composite volume of the period c. 1764-1765 containing transcripts and drafts of reports on education in England, Wales, and Ireland, and of other papers on education, collected by a Russian commissioner with a view to establishing an educational system in Russia.
