Sir J. Herbert Lewis. Correspondence (copies and originals, to and from J.H.L.) press cuttings, notes for speeches, election addresses and extracts from Hansard, January 1916 - December 1923, relating mainly to the work of J.H.L. as Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education and, in particular, to the passage and implementation of Fisher's Education Act of 1918 and of the Teachers' Superannuation Act. The correspondents include Rt. Hon. H.A.L. Fisher, M.P., President of the Board of Education (8/18, 23-5, 27, 30); Rt. Hon. W.H. Fisher, M.P. (8/6); Rt. Hon. Arthur Henderson, M.P., President of the Board of Education (8/2); J.H.L. (8/3, 9, 21-2, 26, 29); Principal T.F.Roberts (8/10); and Rt. Hon. Edward Wood, M.P., President of the Board of Education (8/28). The letters from J.H.L. are copies addressed to D. Lloyd George, Government Ministers and his daughter Kitty, later Mrs. K. Idwal Jones.
