A collection of family papers relating to the Richard family of Tregaron. The collection includes letters from the Reverend Ebenezer Richard addressed to members of his family, together with letters from his son, the Reverend Henry Richard, also mainly addressed to family members.
The collection also contains a table in the hand of Ebenezer Richard, dated 5 December 1816, showing dates of circuit journeys to be undertaken by Calvinistic Methodist ministers in Cardiganshire during 1817; a petition, dated [1878], addressed to W. E. Gladstone, Prime Minister, from Henry Richard and others, and enclosing papers, dated 1878, relating to the Abersychan Relief Committee; and a printed address by Henry Richard directed to the electorate of Merthyr Tydfil, Vaynor and Aberdare.

The papers principally consist of letters, and related items, from Thomas Bassett of Bonvilston, solicitor, to Sir Lewen Powell Glyn, 3rd bart, his sister Anna, and mother Lady Catherine, concerning the sale of the Creiga[u] Estate in Cadoxton-juxta-Neath, Glamorgan, 1827-1829, 1839 (ff. 10-25), and Coed y Gloria, Llanedeyrn, Glamorgan, 1827-1838 (ff. 26-47); a valuation, by Evan W[illiams] David, Radyr Court, of Lady Catherine Glyn's properties in Glamorgan, 1842 (ff. 48-55); and correspondence of Sir George Glyn, 4th bart., with his land agent Evan W. David, 1860-1872, on various matters (ff. 59-76, 82-83, 88-91), and with T[homas] Picton Turbervill of Ewenny Abbey [i.e. Ewenny Priory], 1870-1871, concerning mineral rights at Trebanog, Llantrisant (ff. 78-81, 84-87).

Included are a diary of Sarah Lumley (Myfanwy's mother), February 1893- March 1894, and a postcard from her, July 1900, to Miss Williams, North Farm, Bangor; three testimonial letters to Elisabeth Meirion Lumley (1870-1930, Myfanwy's sister) when applying for nursing posts; a letter, 1894, from Meirion to her father; four letters, 1929-1930 (three being incomplete), from her to her sister Myfanwy, together with her diary while nursing at Hopital Militaire Anglais, Nevers, France, January-October 1916; a letter 8 November 1952, to Myfanwy Lumley from Paul Dukes (from South Africa) to whom she had been 'nanny'; MS. notes of two Welsh sermons [? of Reverend Roderick Lumley, ? 1840-1900, Myfanwy Lumley's father, Congregational minister of Bwlchyffridd, and later at Trefor, Caernarfon]; and a copy of the address of the chairman of the Union of English Congregational Churches at Caernarfon, 1885.
