Register books of baptisms of the Calvinistic Methodist churches of Beulah, New Mills, 1810-1908, and Bethany, Tregynon, 1869-83; a minute book of the trustees of the First Division of Roads in co. Montgomery, 1797-1825; and a poll of the voters for the borough of Montgomery held at Welshpool, 26 July 1837; account books of Robert Owen of Welshpool, auctioneer and valuer; Powysland Museum visitors' book, 1916-32 (also contains minutes of the Welshpool Science and Art Class Committee, 1893-1901); a minute book, 1876-84, of the 'Private Dorcas Society originally formed by Mrs. Newill ... in 1865'; Galarnad er coffadwriaeth am y diweddar Barch. The documents deposited in 1978 include: A volume in 17th century hands containing lists of tenants and encroachments within the lordships of Kerry and Kedewain; and within the lordship of Halcetor; an incomplete and imperfect 17th century document relating to inquisitions held at Newtown and Pool, 4 and 5 James [1] respectively. An estimate of work required to be done in the erection of a town hall at Welshpool for the Town Council, May 1873. A volume containing the minutes of meetings held at Welshpool, 1877, to arrange a steeple-chase, with lists of officials and accounts of the steeple-chases held, 1877-86. Notes on the history of the South Wales Borderers written in 1888. The documents deposited in 1982 include: The Order Book for Montgomeryshire Quarter Sessions, 1707-37. This volume is to be kept henceforth with the official Quarter Sessions records. A further supplementary group of miscellaneous documents, 14th-20th centuries, mainly of Montgomeryshire interest (see NLW Annual Report 1965-66, p. 57; 1966-67, p. 57; 1977-78, p. 73), including sale catalogues, 19th- 20th centuries, mostly of Montgomeryshire estates; documents, 16th-18th centuries, relating to the manor of Halcetor; and material relating to the town and parish of Welshpool. The documents deposited in 1985 include: A further supplementary group of miscellaneous documents, mid 17th century- 1975, mainly of Montgomeryshire interest (see NLW Annual Report, 1965-66, p 57; 1966-67 p 57; 1977-78, p 73; 1982-83, p 51) including documents relating to Welshpool, mid 17th century-1975, Robert Owen and Newtown, 1817-1934, the Order of Druids, c. 1891-1923, and the Ancient Order of Foresters, c. 1885- 1917.

The papers consist of correspondence files, 1974-1991, files on specific subjects, 1959-1995, speech notes and press releases describing Nicholas Edwards's speeches, 1968-1991, and a large group of press cuttings, 1968-1987.

Papers, [1900x1914], containing transcripts by J. Hobson Matthews which include extracts from Cornish, South Wales and Herefordshire parish registers, wills, pedigrees and public records, together with notes on Welsh customs, a recipe for mead, etc.

Papers, 1899-1964, of T. Jones Pierce, relating to his research on medieval Welsh history, comprising mainly lectures, correspondence and transcripts. Research papers and lecture notes of W. Garmon Jones, Jones Pierce's tutor and research supervisor at the University of Liverpool, are also included.

Papers of Prof. Richard Aaron, 1904-1981, comprising drafts of Knowing and the Function of Reason (Oxford, 1971), and of 'Comte, Mill and Durkheim: the epistemological issues', [?1970s]; reviews of Aaron's published works and related material, 1936-1972; draft lectures, articles and teaching notes, 1956-1977; personal and family papers, 1904-1977; personal and academic correspondence, 1932-1976; correspondence relating to the resignation of Goronwy Rees as Principal of UCW, Aberystwyth, 1956; minutes, correspondence and papers relating to the Central Advisory Council for Education (Wales), 1946-1951, the Council for Wales and Monmouthshire, 1958-1963, and the BBC General Advisory Council, 1963-1971; discussion papers for meetings of the British Academy, 1980-1981; and papers relating to Welsh-medium higher education, 1955-1975. With the exception of Knowing and the Function of Reason, there appear to be no papers relating to his books.

Fourteen diaries, 1908-18 and 1935-37, of William Aaron (1864-1937), itinerant tailor and father of Professor Richard I. Aaron, containing occasional newspaper cuttings relating to events of the time; October 2024.

Notebooks of Thomas Owen Jones (Tryfan), which include historical notes, a list of Wesleyan ministers, church membership registers, an essay, transcripts and press cuttings.

Estate records of Clynfyw and associated estates in Cardiganshire and Pembrokeshire. These records represent two groups that came together at the end of the nineteenth century: papers relating to the Lewis family of Llwyngrawys in the parish of Llangoedmor, and of Cardigan and Clynfyw; and the Bowen family of Pantyderi, Pembrokeshire, which in turn includes papers relating to the Williams family of Tre-fach, Pembrokeshire. -- The Clynfiew estate records includes deeds, 1749-1888, relating to lands mainly in the parish of Llangoedmor, Cardiganshire, and Maenordeifi, Clydau, Llanfihangel Penbedw, and Cilrhedyn, Pembrokeshire, and rentals, 1825-1837, 1886-1916. The Pantyderi and Tre-fach estates records include deeds, 1549-1700; rentals of the Tre-fach estate, 1818-1820; and a bundle of papers relating to Hafod Colliery, parish of Llanwonno, Glamorgan, 1879-1885 (J. W. Bowen was arbitrator in a dispute over the colliery). A substantial group of deeds relate to the estate of the Morgan family in Cardigan. -- Miscellaneous material includes a number of commonplace books, one of them containing substantial notes on Welsh history, [c. 1800]; two logs kept on board H.M.S. Royal Adelaide and other ships, 1837-1838; and two emblazoned pedigree rolls, one of David Morgan 'of Lhanbylan' and David Moris 'of Ffynnone Bychan', [c. 1700], continued down to the Williams family of Tre-fach, the other of the Bowens of Llwyngwair down to James Bowen, copied from the original in 1788.

The second group, described here, comprises the personal political papers of the Rev. J. Roger Roberts. These include electoral ephemera, minutes, newspaper cuttings, reports and letters mostly relating to the Liberal Party / Liberal/SDP (Social Democratic Party) Alliance / Liberal Democratic Party, and in particular to the Liberal Party in the Conwy Constituency mainly between 1950 and 1999. The first group, donated in 1997, and described elsewhere, also contains some personal political papers relating to the Liberal Party, in particular to the Conwy Constituency, between 1946 and 1993. These include newsletters, leaflets, various publications, manifetstos, policy and constitutional papers, annual reports, newspaper cuttings, correspondence and minutes.

Four volumes of family documents, correspondence, photographs and genealogical memoranda, 1764-1890, relating to the family of Thomas Griffiths Jones ('Cyffin', 1834-1884), Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain, compiled, 1905-1937, by his son Thomas Griffiths Jones (1872-1937), Gwern-y-Pant, High Wycombe, the depositor's father, together with a photocopy of a pedigree roll of the depositor's ancestors.

The fonds comprises papers relating to Professor Thomas Jones's professional and personal life, including his career and research interests, 1922-1972; correspondence and personal papers, 1932-1979; and papers, 1945-1981, of his wife, Mary Eileen Jones (Mair).

Papers of Daniel Protheroe including drafts of manuscript music, 1917-1954; manuscript music books containing drafts of compositions and arrangements for male voices; printed personal Christmas cards containing personal composed carols, 1913-1932; correspondence, 1911-1935, dealing with copyright, publishing and royalty agreements; royalty certificates, 1893-1898; programmes of concerts and religious services; and papers of Rhys Morgan including drafts of manuscript, duplicate and printed copies of music; correspondence, 1924-1928; memorabilia relating to his career and family photographs.

Papers relating to the donor's work as Clerk of the National Assembly and Chair of the Commission on Devolution in Wales.

The archive comprises the papers of Jill Evans, mostly produced and accumulated in the course of her work as a Member of the European Parliament for Plaid Cymru between 1999 and 2020 and include material relating to various campaigns on employment, the environment, women's issues, food standards, international development, the Iraq war, the Welsh language and Catalonia.
