Title deeds, of the Cwmgwili estate, Carmarthenshire, 1576-1936, owned by the Philipps family of Abergwili, and of the Cilbronnau estate, Cardiganshire, owned by the Jenkins family of Llangoedmor in the same county, 1739-1947; domestic and personal vouchers and accounts, 1909-[early 20 cent.], and deeds, letters and plans, 1892-1900, relating to the negotiations for the purchase by the corporation of Carmarthen of land in the parish of Newchurch, Carmarthenshire, required for the corporation's water supply.

Manuscripts and papers of the Herbert families of Cherbury, Dolguog and Powis Castle, [1550x1600]-1808, and in particular those of Edward Herbert, 1st baron Herbert of Cherbury (d.1648), including his literary, philosophical, political and personal papers. The archive also includes political, estate and personal papers of the Herbert families of Cherbury and Powis Castle, 1565-1808. Many of the letters in the 1959 deposit are calendared in W. J. Smith, Herbert correspondence: the sixteenth and seventeenth century letters of the Herberts of Chirbury, Powis Castle and Dolguog, formerly at Powis Castle in Montgomeryshire (Cardiff, 1963).

Records of the Welsh estate of the Crosse family of Shaw Hill, Lancashire, comprising records of the Thelwall family of Nantclwyd, Bathafarn Park and Plas Coch, Denbighshire, and of the associated families of Parry of Nantclwyd and Ruthin, Gethin of Cernioge, and Kenrick of Woore, Shropshire, London, and Chester, all of whose estates the Crosse family appears to have acquired. The archive includes Civil War papers, 1642-1644, illustrating some of the activities of the sheriff of Denbighshire- John Thelwall of Plas Coch- and of the Commissioners of Array between November 1642, and April 1644, letters, mainly 17-18 cent., and deeds and miscellaneous documents, 1441-1796, relating mainly to Parry and Thelwall estates in Denbighshire.

Records of the Ffynone estate, Manordeifi, and Rhosygwilen estate, in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Cardiganshire, comprising deeds, probate records, settlements, etc., 1441-1915; estate and family letters, 1679-1915 (mainly 1733 onwards); rentals, 1837-1853, 1914-1915 (Ffynnone estate) and 1827-1837 (Rhosygwilen estate); and letters and accounts, 1787-1852, relating to various collieries in Pembrokeshire including Creswell, Jefferston Mountain, Hook, Amroth and Redlangoige. The archive also includes bank-books of the Tivyside Hunt, 1851-1855; muster rolls, letters, orders, orderly books, circulars, etc., of the Pembrokeshire militia, 1778-1876, but mainly 1778-1800 when Lt. Col. John Colby commanded it, including papers relating to the militia's tour of duty in Ireland, 1799-1800, which include papers relating to the trial and execution of Walter Baker, sentenced to death for conspiracy at Mallow, Ireland, 1799; papers relating to John Colby's court-martial, 1800; and deeds, accounts, and estate and family letters, 1786-1823, relating to the Orielton estate in Pembrokeshire and Anglesey, following the appointment of John Colby as receiver of that estate as a result of a legal dispute between members of the Owen family over the administration of the estate during the minority of Sir Hugh Owen.

The remainder of the archive includes two medieval French vellum rolls, one containing a metrical version of the life of St Melor, written about the end of the thirteenth century, and the other a short religious poem, [15th cent.]; draft sheets of Sir Thomas Hanmer's 'Garden Book' [17th cent.]; pedigree rolls; rolls of proceedings at sheriffs' tourns and manorial courts of the lordship of Maelor Saesneg, 1413 and 1444; court rolls of the manor of Overton, 1618, and of the manor of Overton and hundred of Maelor Saesneg, 1672-1720; letters and warrants relating to the Civil War, 1642-1650; letters relating to Richard Steele, Puritan minister at Hanmer, 1660, and papers relating to the Bagillt, Kelsterton, Flint Mill, Boars Head, Flint Marsh, Englefield, Soughton Mountain, Dee Bank and Lletty collieries, Flintshire, 1794-1846.

Music manuscripts and papers, [c. 1750]-1945, including hundreds of folk songs brought together by Dr J. Lloyd Williams in his role as Editor of the Welsh Folk-Song Society, and papers relating to his researches into the history of Welsh music; material relating to his interest and vocation in the field of botany, 1871-1942; and personal papers, [?1870]-1946.

The archive comprises almost entirely of title deeds, 1621-1927, of the Derry Ormond estate, co. Carm., mainly dating from its acquisition in 1783 by the Jones family, later Inglis-Jones.

Papers of David Robert Daniel, comprising, material relating to Thomas Edward Ellis, MP, including diaries, exercise books, speeches and election addresses, correspondence of Thomas Edward Ellis, including correspondence with D. R. Daniel, papers of his political career, copies of diaries and letters, memoirs by others and papers relating to the death of T. E. Ellis, [c. 1854x1934]; material relating to David Robert Daniel, [c. 1869x1931], including diaries, manuscript volumes and notes on places, his family and various individuals, some being eminent Welshmen, school and college papers, letters and cards to and from D. R. Daniel, including some from public men and women, relations and his wife, and miscellaneous and family papers; material relating to the North Wales Quarrymen's Union and the Penrhyn Quarry Strikes, [1878xc.1903], including reports, pamphlets, cuttings, correspondence, discussions, resolutions, and newspaper cuttings; together with material relating to David Lloyd George, including letters and cards to D. Papers of the Aberystwyth Corn and General Market Co. covering the whole period of its existence, 1870-1922, including papers relating to the construction of the two market halls. The archive includes minute books; company registers; financial records; deeds and documents; correspondence (mainly relating to the Company's liquidation); and inventories.

The fonds comprises letters, 1928-1999, to Lady White, diaries, 1936-1984, papers, 1907-1994, reflecting her career as a Labour politician, papers, 1859-1994, concerning her outside interests and activities, records, 1950-1996, deriving from Lady White's involvement in Welsh political and public life, and material, 1960-1990, concerning her activities in educational matters. There are also family papers, 1892-1992, including some relating to Lady White's father Dr Thomas Jones CH (1870-1955) and to her husband John Cameron White (1911-1968). There is also a substantial group of press cuttings and other printed material, 1919-1997. A further two boxes of papers were received in January 2007; this group remains uncatalogued.
