The story of Safari, an elephant hunter's dog who was the hunting companion of Harry Manners for six years in the wilds of Portuguese East Africa. Tom Macdonald read the diaries kept by Harry Manners during his hunting trails and used them as the foundation to some of his novels and short stories. See also 'Wild Eden' (nos 54-61).
