A group of manuscripts that form part of an extensive collection of Pembrokeshire documents and papers from the offices of Messrs. Williams & Williams, solicitors, Haverfordwest.

Music manuscripts in the Cwrtmawr collection, comprising 18th-20th century tune-books containing both sacred and secular music.

Papers of John Legonna, including correspondence with Per Denez, Alan Heusaff, Goulven Pennaod (George Pinault), Harri Webb and others; diaries; poetry; prose; autobiographical notes and personal reflections; farming records; college notes on Welsh and Irish history and law; material relating to Legonna's political views and his activities with Welsh and Celtic nationalist organisations, especially Mudiad Gweriniaethol Cymru (Welsh Republican Movement), the Welsh National Party, and the New Nation Movement and its journal, 'Cilmeri'; printed and cyclostyled ephemera; personal and family records; miscellaneous printed material relating to Christopher Murray Grieve, 'Hugh MacDiarmid'; programmes for local eisteddfodau at Llannon and Llanrhystud; and typescript drafts of unpublished plays.

Deeds and legal papers relating to the Crosswood estate, Cardiganshire, 1631, 1705-1820, and to the Plas Llangoedmor estate, 1808-1898, mainly in Cardiganshire and Carmarthenshire.

Papers of Sir Cadwaladr Bryner Jones, including personal papers, 1902-1907; lecture notes, [1900s]; correspondence and papers relating to research into the history of cattle, [?1920s]-1951; and miscellaneous papers collected by Sir Cadwaladr Bryner Jones, 1600-1928. The archive does not include any papers relating to his public life.

Papers, [1730x1893], of the Roberts family of Llanbrynmair and of the Howell family of Bontdolgadfan, Llanbrynmair and comprising mainly correspondence, together with sermons, broadsides and miscellanea. The material was preserved by David Howell, Machynlleth and Aberdyfi, cousin of the Reverend Samuel Roberts ('S.R.') and father of the donor, Joseph Matthew Howell.

Papers, 1830-1930, of or relating to John Thomas (Pencerdd Gwalia), including original musical manuscripts, mainly compositions and arrangements for the harp, 1853-1905; correspondence mainly relating to his concerts, compositions and travels, and to musical circles in London and Wales, 1842-1930; journals of European concert tours, 1851-1883; concert programmes, 1851-1905; papers of his wife, Joan Frances Thomas, 1878-1926, including tour journals, 1878-1883; and passports, 1873, 1885.

The papers comprise music manuscripts of the composer and viola player Kenneth Harding (1903-1992), comprising scores and instrumental parts of orchestral works, chamber music, songs and a number of works for the viola.

The records reflect the activities and research projects sponsored by the Institute of Welsh Affairs, 1982-2001, and they comprise administrative files, 1982-1990 and 1995-1998; project files, 1995-2001; reports and surveys, including draft and interim reports, 1987-1995, including many, 1992-1993, concerning the 2010 Project; records, 1986-2000, relating to the organisation of the St Davids Forum; and papers, 1996-2001, deriving from the preparation and publication of the Gregynog Papers.

Further papers of the Institute of Welsh Affairs comprising an assortment of project files and interesting documents largely on devolution and policy themes. This tranch remains uncatalogued. Also received were three large boxes of printed material and a small box of electronic material.

Papers, [1600x1924], mostly of or relating to Robert Ellis (Cynddelw), with some in the hand of Dr Robert Ellis, his son. The material includes a draft autobiography of Robert Ellis; an introduction written for a collection of Ellis's work under the proposed title Mwyar Berwyn; a draft of part of the first chapter of a biography of John Williams, Baptist minister (Llangollen, 1871); notes for Esboniad ar y Testament Newydd Cyfrol III (Llangollenn, 1878); poetry; diaries, 1840-1866; correspondence, 1833-1875; sermons; lectures; essays; adjudications at eisteddfodau, [1860x1875]; and miscellaneous notes, transcripts and extracts. The collection also includes letters, 1835-1856, of John Williams, Baptist minister; a rental, 1725-1726, of the estate of Watkin Williams Wynn; commonplace books of John Davies, Pentrefoelas, Griffith Williams (Gutyn Peris) and others, together with further collections of miscellany in seventeenth and eighteenth century hands; and autograph sermons by Christmas Evans.

Papers, 1835-1924, of Sir Andrew Crombie Ramsay comprising almost entirely of correspondence, which includes family letters, and correspondence, 1842-1923, between members of the Johnes family of Dolau Cothi and the Ramsay family.
