A typewritten copy of a biographical essay ('Traethawd bywgraffyddol') on Robert Jones, Bryn Gro, Rhosgadfan, written by his son Griffith Wynne Jones in 1897. The biography was submitted for competition at the Rhostryfan and Rhosgadfan United Literary Festival.

An essay entitled 'Bywgraffiad o fywyd y diweddar W[illiam] Williams, Esqr. , Goruchwyliwr Mwngloddiau y Van, Sir Drefaldwyn', written by 'Ap Idloes', and ? submitted for competition at an eisteddfod held at Y Fan, Llanidloes, 1888. Inset, at the end of the volume, is a holograph note, 12 June 1939, by [the Reverend] D. Llewelyn Jones [Wesleyan minister], Llanidloes, the donor of the manuscript, relating to William Williams's grave, with copies of the memorial inscriptions to Williams and members of his family on the gravestone.

A typescript copy of biographies of five persons who died at Rhostryfan between 1900 and 1930, compiled by John W. Jones, Bryn Menai, and awarded the first prize at a literary and musical festival held at Rhostryfan on 23-25 December, 1935. The work has been revised by the adjudicator, W. Gilbert Williams, Rhostryfan, who has also included an extract from his own adjudication and some corrections.
