Scope and content

Material relating to quoiting in Wales, comprising international and county league match programmes, posters, flyers and statistics; correspondence addressed to Linda Evans and Parry Evans, Joint Secretaries of the Welsh Quoiting Board, and to Welsh national quoits team member Brian Penny; details of dinners, receptions and lunches held to celebrate or otherwise mark international quoiting events; copies of rules and regulations of Welsh quoiting; press cuttings relating to quoiting in Britain; and miscellaneous items relating to quoiting. This section of the archive is partially sub-divided into material relating to quoiting in Montgomeryshire, which includes Caersws Quoiting Club, and to Llanarthney Quoiting Club, Carmarthenshire.
One particularly notable item is a copy of a printed booklet titled The History of Quoits in Wales by Albert Baker (published by J. R. Davies in 1949), which is enclosed with a letter, 14 December 2000, to Linda Evans, Joint Secretary of the Welsh Quoiting Board, from Darryl Baker, grandson of the author (see under heading Quoiting: Wales: Correspondence: Letters to Linda Evans).
