Biographical history
Roedd Eigra Lewis Roberts yn nofelwraig a dramodydd. Fe’i ganwyd ar 7 Awst 1939 ym Mlaenau Ffestiniog. Graddiodd o Goleg y Brifysgol Bangor. Enillodd y Fedal Ryddiaith yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 1965 a 1968, y tlws drama yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Bro Myrddin 1974 a’r Goron yn Eistedddfod Genedlaethol Abertawe 2006 am gasgliad o gerddi am Sylvia Plath.
Addaswyd dwy o nofelau Elena Puw Morgan gan Eigra Lewis Roberts ar gyfer y teledu. Yn 1996 enillodd wobr Bafta am y sgriptiwr gorau am Y Wisg Sidan. Cafodd ei hanrhydeddu gyda gradd MA am ei chyfraniad i lenyddiaeth Cymru. Cyhoeddwyd ei hunangofiant Eigra: Hogan Fach o'r Blaena gan Wasg y Bwthyn yn 2021.
