The collection includes letters of Augustus John to Mavis de Vere Cole, 1934-1959, and to her son Tristan de Vere Cole, [1947]-1961, together with letters of Dorelia McNeill to Mavis de Vere Cole, [?1949]-1961, and to Tristan de Vere Cole, 1951-1968. Also included are letters addressed to, or sent by, Augustus and Dorelia John and other members of their family, [?1912]-1969, including several from Michael Holroyd, 1966-1969, together with miscellaneous items, 1928-[?1961], in the hand of Augustus John.

An incomplete holograph manuscript of an exposition by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, of the triads called 'Trioedd Ynys Prydain'. The text begins with the breadth of the island according to the second triad, and ends abruptly in the middle of an exposition of the seventh triad in the series.

The transcripts were written on two fly-leaves of Thomas Stanley: History of Philosophy, London, 1655, in the original binding with the words 'E Libris ... Salesbury e Coll: Jesu Oxon'. on the inside front cover. Three sons [William, John, and Gabriel] of Owen Salesbury of Rug matriculated at Jesus College between 1656 abd 1658.

They include documents relating to proposed improvements to cottages, 1937-1938, and the restoration of Trewern Hall, 1983-1988; farm and household accounts, with miscellaneous financial papers and vouchers, 1952-1986; correspondence and papers concerning agricultural improvements and grant applications, 1977-1985; correspondence concerning the tenancy of Plas Newydd, Trewern, 1982-1984; personal and family papers, 1949-1984, relating to William Herbert Chapman (1955-1982) and to Murray Lloyd Chapman, including the latter's research notes and papers, on the history of Trewern and Montgomeryshire families and his work in civil engineering, 1973-1986. Plans of the estate and proposed improvements to the farm buildings accompanied some of the papers. Papers relating to Phase 2 Restoration of Trewern Hall, 1990-1993; were received in 2007, including a diary of events in two volumes; papers relating to Ivor William Lloyd Chapman and Margaret Eleanor Chapman; and Gregory-Allen papers. Four further collections were received in August 2014, 2017, September 2018 and September 2019. The 2014 group remains uncatalogued.

A postcard written by Trevor George Ford (1895-1971) to his sister Gerty in Sketty near Swansea, January 1916, from Gefangenenlager prisoner of war camp, Germany, during the First World War, together with a typewritten transcript by the donor, photocopies of the soldier's army record in the Welsh Guards and of his medal card held, 1915, at the National Archives.

An exercise book, 1930-1955, in the hand of the Rev. W. P. Jones, Principal of Trevecca College, Talgarth, containing an annual record of students admitted to the College for the years 1930-31 to 1954-55 (ff. 2-51 verso). Entries include the names of students and typically list their home and college addresses and, less frequently, ages and subjects studied.
The volume also includes various memoranda, notes, accounts and lists (ff. 1 recto-verso, 60, 70-82 verso and inside the covers), including petty cash and other accounts, 1932-1941 (ff. 60, 73 recto-verso, 75, 76-80 verso, 82), details of scholarship exams and awards, 1936-1940 (f. 72 verso, 74 verso, 75 verso-76), lists of new students, 1949-1952 (ff. 70 verso-71) and a list of landladies at Talgarth (f. 74). Items found loose in the volume (now in an archival envelope) comprise a letter, 14 January 1955, to W. P. Jones from Ieuan Ll. Jenkins, Dowlais (f. 83), and eleven printed copies of the Trevecca College Regulations, each signed by students of the 1954-55 intake (ff. 84-94). From 1906 to 1964 Trevecca was run by the Calvinistic Methodist Church as a preparatory college.
