The fonds comprises research material relating to drovers and drove roads in Wales, and in other parts of Britain and Ireland, reflecting R. G. Avent's interest in the subject. The papers include manuscript notes, notebooks and offprints from journals and magazines, together with some related publications. Also included is a card index containing references to relevant printed sources, some of which are cross-referenced with the notes.

A volume of holograph sermons by Robert Jones, Baptist minister, Llanllyfni, co. Caernarvon. One of the sermons is dated at his home at Ochr y Foel, 29 January 1883. Also included in the volume are two hymns and a catechism. At the beginning is a list of contents ('Cynnwysiad').
A volume of transcripts of leases, grants, charters, etc., 1704-1755, relating to the issues and profits of the origianl seal for cos. Caernarvon, Anglesey, and Merioneth, and of sums of money payable for fines and recoveries levied in the said counties, compiled for reference by William Wynne, serjeant at law, who was granted a lease of the original seal in 1729. The volume is indexed.
A bound attested copy of the apportionment of rent charge payable in lieu of tithes in the parish of Gwnnws, co. Cardigan, as confirmed by the Tithe Commissioners in 1847, prefaced by a copy of the award made prior to the apportionment and confirmed by the Commissioners in 1844.
