The families involved include Howells of Llysyfran, Ford of Stonehall, Owen of Orielton, James of Llandeloy and St Edrins, Parry of Porthiddy (Llanrian), Laugharne of Orlandon, and Mathias of Lochmeyler and Castle Cenlas. The Mathias family include Rev. John Matthias (d. 1805) of Lochmeyler, vicar of Llandeloy, who bought Castle Cenlas, c.1792.

An account book, 1843-1854, of Soar's Tent (No.957), Merioneth District, Independent Order of Rechabites, established at Dinas Mawddwy on 31 March 1843. Also included in the volume are an obituary of John D. Jones of Eagle, Wyoming County, New York, an emigrant from Mallwyd, and draft essays on 'Dyledswydd Gwraig ar yr Aelwyd', etc.
