Typescript copies of letters addressed by Felicia Dorothea Browne (afterwards Mrs Hemans) (1793-1835) and her mother and sister to Matthew Nicholson of Liverpool, 1807-1812, with press cuttings and transcripts of other letters relating to Mrs Hemans and papers relating to the gift of the original letters to the Liverpool Public Libraries in 1912 by Francis Nicholson.

The archive comprises almost entirely of deeds relating to the Helygog estate, Brithdir, Merionethshire, 1616-1954.

An autobiographical work entitled 'Quick March', written [in 1931] by Helen Thomas, and bearing corrections and paragraph marks, evidently in preparation for publication. The work appeared untitled as the seventeenth and final chapter of her second memoir, World Without End (London: Heinemann, 1931), pp. 181-194. This manuscript was claimed by the seller to have been owned by Vita Sackville-West, who reviewed World Without End (see Helen Thomas, Time & Again: Memoirs and Letters, ed. by Myfanwy Thomas (Manchester, 1978), p. 130).
