Evans, Bournemouth, 1889, [the Reverend] N[athaniel] Cynhafal Jones, Llanidloes, 1886, and [the Reverend] Owen Thomas, Liverpool, 1882 (comments on the proposed scheme or pattern of the concordance, ? based upon specimen pages or sheets); a ? holograph note, also, by inference, to the said David Griffiths, from [the Reverend] J[ohn] Jones ('Vulcan'), undated (a comment on a specimen [page or sheet] of the proposed concordance); a holograph letter to Messrs. P. M. A small volume written in the eighteenth century lettered on the spine 'Llyvr Dos=parth a Cadwe= digaeth Cerdd Dannau, I'. The scribe was David Jones ('Dewi Fardd') of Trefriw. The contents are as follows: pp. 1-23, 'Clod Cerdd ai Dechreuad' beginning 'Fy Mryd sydd ar hyn om llafur ddwyn ar ddeall it Darllewr . . . Eithr o arfer Cerdd Theoricall y Nef, ni ymadroddwn am dano' [cf. B.M. Addit. MS 14989, ff. 82 recto-111 verso, and also D. Vychan'), being probably in the autograph of Edward Williams, 'Iolo Morganwg'. There is a triad on p.54. On the fly-leaf in a later hand is written 'Dosparth Cerdd Dafod'.

A memorandum book of deputy lieutenancy and other local government activities mainly in the hundred of Maelor Saesneg kept largely by or for Sir Thomas Hanmer (1612-1678) and his son Sir John Hanmer (d. 1701). It contains transcripts of estreats of assessments of subsidies, royal aids and grants, 1594, 1663-5, 1673, 1689 and 1691-2, levied upon the hundred of Maelor Saesneg; tables of proportions of taxes levied upon the counties of Wales and upon the different townships of Maelor Saesneg and Hope, 1665-1728; circulars and correspondence which passed between the Lords of the Council, Richard Vaughan, Earl of Carbery (1600?-1686) and the deputy lieutenants of Flintshire and Denbighshire concerning the establishment and administration of the militia, 1661-3, an account of the three months' assessment for defraying the expense of the militia, 1663-5, and lists of persons charged with foot soldiers in Maelor Saesneg and Hope, 1661 and 1683; precedents of deputy lieutenancy warrants; a list of burgesses of Overton, 1679; Bettisfield estate rentals, 1678-82; an estimate of the charge of maintaining at sea fifty ships (listed) of the Royal Navy, 1670.
