Letters, 18 January 1697/8-1827, from Thomas Tanner (1674-1735), bishop of St Asaph, two of them to Peter Le Neve (1661-1729) and one to an unknown recipient relating to a petition from some of 'the Parishioners of Mallwyd against Mr. Meredith their Minister'; from John Egerton (1721-1787), bishop of Bangor, to Richard Phelps, Whitehall; from Richard Watson (1737-1816), bishop of Llandaff, to Thomas Percival (1740-1804), physician, Manchester, and to an unknown recipient; from Thomas Burgess (1756-1837), bishop of St Davids, to the Duke of Sussex [Prince Augustus Frederick (1773-1843)]; from Robert Watson (?1730-1781) to an unknown recipient.

Two holograph letters, early seventeenth century, the one [?1610] from Tho: Salusburye [bookseller, etc., in London, 1593-1604], at his house 'in cloth fayer in London', to Sir John Wynne, kt., 'att his house in Gwyder', the other, undated and imperfect, from Wylliam Holland, St. John's Coll: Cambridge, to his brother, Mr. [ ] Holland at P[ennant?] in Eglwyse vaghe. Sir John Wynn was anxious to know whether the Psalms had been translated into Welsh and Thomas Salusbury had sent him 'a coppy of them yt are printed' [i.e. the small volume of Edward Kyffin's Psalms (1603)]. He [Edward Kyffin], according to Thomas Salusbury, had finished about fifty before his death seven years previously in the time of the great sickness [?1603]. The letter also contains mention of Archdeacon [Edmund] Price and of an edition of Camden's Britannia. The William Holland letter relates to family matters and is an attempt to show that he is not unnatural but well-disposed towards his kindred.

Three holograph letters from Thomas Price of [Christ Church] Oxford, to George Townshend, 1st marquess Townshend, viceroy of Ireland, 1771-1772 ( improvements to Oxford, the writer's hints for the embellishments of cities executed by the architect [John] Gwyn, the writer's system of education, improvements to Blenheim, noblemen at Oxford, an event in Denmark, opportunities of service by the writer to the recipient).

A group of fifty-four holograph letters, 1929-1932, from Thomas Jones, Cerrigellgwm[-isa], Ysbyty Ifan, Denbighshire, to Evan Roberts, Llandderfel, Merioneth, relating to the writer's literary and musical pursuits. Some letters refer to the Welsh ancestry of Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States of America. Also included in the collection is a holograph letter, 15 November, 1932, from Einion Jones, Cerrigellgwm-isa, to Evan Roberts, enclosing a pedigree of his father Thomas Jones and a copy of the latter's last poem.

Four holograph and two autograph letters, 1929-1947 and undated, written by Richard [Arthur Warren] Hughes, author of A High Wind in Jamaica (London, 1929), to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leach. The writer refers to a visit to the Adirondacks, a cruise with Harrison (Hal) Smith, the sale of 11,000 copies of his novel, his indebtedness to Henry Leach for the title of A High Wind in Jamaica, the schooling of his children, his removal from Laugharne Castle to Talsarnau, Merioneth, etc.

Nineteen letters, 1790-1796, written by Lady Anne Erskine, appointed by Selina, Countess of Huntingdon, as her successor at Trevecca, to Thomas Haweis, 'Father of the South Seas Mission', and a receipt by Lady Erskine to Dr. Haweis for a loan of £100 with an assignment of her right to the sum of £100 left her by a codicil to the will of her 'very dear friend Jenetta Paine Haweis' in the event of her failure to repay the loan.
