Preface to the Life of John Wycliffe,
A holograph preface revised by John Lewis, vicar of Minster, co. Kent, for the second edition (1723) of his The history of the life and sufferings of ... John Wicliffe ... (1st ed., London, 1720). The work was completed on 5 November, 1721, and is described on the fly-leaf as 'A new Preface to Mr. Lewis's History of John Wicliffe: in Mr. Lewis's own hand-writing. This being an Original'. At the end of the volume is 'A Glossary explaining the old and obscure words in Dr. Wiclif's writings'.

A typescript précis of the text of NLW MS 24191B, a journal of an 1816 tour of New York State and the Niagara Peninsula, Upper Canada (ff. 1-7 verso), together with endnotes (ff. 7 verso-8). The typescript contains annotations, corrections and underlinings throughout. The folio numbers and quotes given are not always entirely accurate.

A composite volume containing precedents in the form of copies of grants, letters patent, warrants, etc., Elizabeth-Charles II, relating to bishoprics, deaneries, officers of the royal household, etc. (e.g. congé d'elire, letter recommendatory to elect a bishop, oath of allegiance for a bishop's homage, instalment of first fruits of a bishopric, commendams, presentations, grants to royal musicians, grants of annuities and pensions, grants of offices, baronet's patent, dispensations, directions from the signet, indentures, etc., etc.); a brief account, in French, of the Portuguese revolution of 1 December, 1640; a report, in reply to a questionnaire, on the length, depth, security, etc., of His Majesty's mole at Tangier, written on board H.M.S. the Mountagne, 13 October, 1683; pedigrees of the royal house of Portugal; forms of addresses used by the King to his subjects; styles of noblemen and otehrs; lists of cathedral churches and of their prebends; dedications of cathedral churches, etc.

A precedent book, 1793-1823, probably compiled by Rees Davies of Swansea, under-sheriff of Glamorgan in 1793-1794, with additions by Wyndham Lewis, under-sheriff in 1809-1810, and others. The volume contains legal processes, 1766-1823, mainly of Glamorgan and co. Brecon interest, relating to bankruptcy, highway repairs, actions of trespass, trespass upon the case, debt, etc., and includes an application and licence to perform 'Tragedies, Comedies, Interludes, Operas, Plays & Farces' in Brecon for sixty days between November 1792 and February 1793 (ff. 47-48); a case concerning the appointment of a non-Welsh speaker to the vicarage of Aberysgir, co. Brecon, 1774 (ff. 70-2 verso); and costs of the under-sheriff of co. Radnor in executing a convicted horse-thief, 1785 (ff. 91 verso-92 verso). A copy of a treatise, written [c. 1750], on the practice of the court of Chancery in the Brecon circuit of the court of Great Sessions has, with the exception of the first page (f. 17 verso), been cut out leaving only stubs.
