Llanbister Poor Law settlement papers,
Depositions, examinations, warrants of removal and other papers, 1848-1850, concerning the settlement of paupers and to their removal from the parish of Llanbister, Radnorshire.
The papers relate to the removal of Eliza Jones and her grandfather John Jones to Abbeycwmhir, Radnorshire, 1850 (ff. 1-13), Sarah Hamer to Llanbadarn Vynydd, Radnorshire, 1848-[1850] (ff. 14-17), and Martha Jones from Knighton to Glascwm, Radnorshire, [1849] (f. 18).

Miscellaneous papers, [19 cent., last ¼]-1903, relating to the parish of Llanbadrig, Anglesey, collected by the Rev. Thomas Prichard, vicar of Llanbadrig.
These include a manuscript entitled 'My Village', [19 cent., last ¼], describing Cemaes and Llanbadrig (ff. 1-27); a volume in the hand of Thomas Prichard containing various texts including transcripts of documents concerning local charities and Church land, [late 19 cent.], and tithe commutation tables, 1891-1902 (ff. 28-66); miscellaneous correspondence of Thomas Prichard, 1893-1902 (ff. 49-50, 69, 83-84, 97, 100-103); tax receipts, 1892-1895 (ff. 71-82); and papers relating to the Ecclesiastical Dilapidations Act 1871, 1897 (ff. 87-90).

Literary compositions submitted for competition at the Crown Eisteddfod held at Llanarth, Cardiganshire, on 29 July, 1875, viz. 'Can o Glod i R. L. Lloyd, Nantgwyllt, fel Tirfeddianwr', translations into English of a portion of the 'awdl' 'Molawd Ynys Prydain' by David Owen ('Dewi Wyn o Eifion'), and prose translations into Welsh of a portion of Act III, Scene 2, of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Prince of Denmark; together with adjudications by William Thomas ('Gwilym Marles'), Llandysul.

Items found loose within the volume, including bank receipts and miscellaneous correspondence, 1925-1933, have been placed in an archival envelope (ff. 25-36).

Part of the vestry book of the parish of Llanaber, Merioneth, 1812-1825 (watermark 1804), containing minutes, July 1812-March 1823, of meetings concerning the parish poor rate, housing for the poor, etc.
The volume is probably incomplete, consisting of three loose gatherings only. A receipt, dated 5 July 1825 is tipped in on f. 14.

Lizzie Rowlands autograph album
An autograph album belonging to Lizzie Rowlands (née Jones), Penrhyndeudraeth, Merioneth, containing entries, 1860-1911, by R. J. Derfel, Thomas E. Ellis, William Rees ('Gwilym Hiraethog'), Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') and others including a number of prominent Calvinistic Methodist ministers; together with pasted-in photographs of some of the above and family memoranda. The album was originally owned by Lizzie Jones's father Evan Jones, London House, Bala (f. iv) and includes notes taken by him from sermons heard at Calvinistic Methodist Association and other meetings, 1847-1849 (ff. 1-6 verso). Items found loose inside the volume have been filed separately (NLW MS 22010iiE): a letter from Lizzie Rowlands, 1885, and from Thomas Charles Edwards, Bala, 1896, relating to Lizzie Rowlands's association with Mary Jones, Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, and an address by Mrs Rowlands, 1904, containing an account of the walk to Bala to purchase a Bible as recounted by Mary Jones herself.

A volume of transcripts, in Church Slavonic, from the 'Lives of the Saints', of the life of Christ, the life and suffering of Varvara, the martyr, the life of Varlaam, the first abbot of the Cave monastery of Kiev, and the life of Tito, the presbyter. The title-page, which is misleading, reads as follows: 'Mykola Koval' malorossiiskaya povi'st' nyneshnavo vremi'ni sochinenie Nikolaya Vengera Nikolaev 1832g.' [Mykola, the smith. A Ukrainian tale of the present time. The work of Nikolai Venger Nikolaev, 1832].
