Lord Lyttleton's Journey through Part of Wales

A booklet containing transcripts, [18 cent, last ¼], of two letters, dated 6 July 1755 [sic] at Bryn Kyr [Brynkir], Caernarvonshire (ff. 1-10), and 14 July 1755 [sic] at Shrewsury (ff. 10 verso-16), from George Lyttelton, 1st Baron Lyttelton, ostensibly to his brother [Charles], describing a tour through parts of Shropshire and North Wales.
The text, with some differences, was published in The Works of George Lord Lyttelton…, pub. by George Edward Ayscough, Esq. (London: printed for J. Dodsley, in Pall-Mall, 1774, ESTC T79264), pp. 736-751; in print, however, the letters are addressed to 'Mr [Archibald] Bower' and are dated 1756.

Photocopies taken from a scrapbook relating to the early political life of Lord Howe of Aberavon in Wales, his student life in Cambridge, and his work as a barrister, together with a letter from him, 2005, addressed to the Library. The scapbook was kept by Lord Howe's father.

A copy, 1821, of a speech delivered by Sir Stapleton Cotton, 1st Baron Combermere [afterwards 1st Viscount Combermere], governor of Barbados, on his departure from the island in 1820, sent by Rowland E. Cotton, Combermere Abbey, Nantwich, Cheshire, to Sir John Philippart, Military Library, Whitehall; together with a copy of the reply, 1820, to the speech by the House of Assembly, [Barbados], vigorously attacking Combermere's conduct as governor.
