Howell in 1944 whilst employed as an engineer by Rolls-Royce Aero Engines, Derby. (Ii) A typescript report entitled 'A presentation of the Rolls-Royce aerodynamic design methods as applied to axial flow compressors', written in 1954 by W. D. Harshbarger, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, with the co-operation of W. T. Howell, then a senior aerodynamic compressor design engineer at Rolls-Royce, Derby; together with reprints of two articles and a note by W. T. Howell which appeared in The Aeronautical Quarterly, vol. 15, Nov. 1964, and the Philosophical Magazine, series 7, vol. 28, Sept. and Oct. 1939.

Account book, 1846-1856, of Rowland Thomas ('Idris Ddu', 1789-1856) of Merthyr Tudful, co. Glamorgan, containing records of payments to members of the Solid Rock of Wales Society ('Cymdeithas Cadarn Graig y Cymry') meeting at the Harp, Penllwynderi, Merthyr, together with other miscellaneous accounts and memoranda, including an account of William Howel's journey with Abel Evans (d. 1866) and the Mormons from Merthyr to St Louis, Missouri, 1849 (ff. 79-81); additions, 1859-1868, in the hand of Rowland Thomas's son, William R. Thomas, include verses in Welsh (ff. 26v, 119v), and brief details of literary competitions at the National Eisteddfod, Rhuthun, 1868 (ff. 118v-19).

A volume containing poetry and essays mostly in Welsh, 1830-1856, by Rowland Thomas ('Idris Ddu', 1789-1856) of Merthyr Tudful, co. Glamorgan, and transcripts by him of poetry by contemporary local poets. Many of the compositions were entered for competition at eisteddfodau held in Merthyr Tudful, Aberdâr, Hirwaun and elsewhere and reflect the culture and radicalism which flourished in the area during the mid-nineteenth century. The volume also contains brief notes by Rowland Thomas's great-grandson, Elias Thomas (d. 1951), of Merthyr Tudful.
