Comprises miscellaneous printed and typescript items, 1911-1964, deriving from Philip Weekes's career in the coal industry or collected by him, including general material on the coal industry, the affairs of the National Union of Mineworkers, the National Coal Board, the Institution of Mining Engineers, the British Association of Colliery Management, the National Association of Colliery Managers. There is also a file recording details of professional visits to various collieries during 1957-58, with brief reports on each colliery. There are also a group of Philip Weekes's pay slips, 1945-50, and his membership card as an honorray member of the national Union of Mineworkers, September 1961.
