An illustrated manuscript journal, [1837x1838] (watermark 1836), by the artist George Nicholson of Liverpool, of a tour of Snowdonia on 5-18 August 1837, including nine pen and ink drawings by Nicholson, together with two watercolour paintings, apparently by his sister Isabella.
Nicholson and his two friends Edward [Priestley] and Mary Ann arrive at Bangor by ship [from Liverpool] on 5 August (f. 2). Their itinerary includes Caernarfon (f. 3), Beddgelert and Pont Aberglaslyn (f. 3 verso), Tanybwlch, Maentwrog (ff. 5-7 verso) and Ffestiniog (f. 6 recto-verso). They then return to Beddgelert for a week (ff. 8-17), before travelling via Capel Curig (ff. 17 verso-18) to Bangor (f. 18 verso) for the passage home (ff. 18 verso, 20). The group also climb Snowdon (ff. 9-10 verso). The pen and ink drawings comprise 'Llyn Colwyn' [i.e. Llyn Cwellyn?] (f. 3 verso), 'Pont Aberglasllyn [sic]' (f. 4), 'Tan-y-Bwlch Inn' [i.e. the Oakeley Arms] (f. 6), 'From the window of the Oakley [sic] Arms, Tan-y-Bwlch' (f. 7), 'Ciliart's [i.e. Gelert's] Tomb' (f. 12), 'Goat Inn' (f. 14), 'Plas Colwyn' (f. 16), and 'Trifain [i.e. Tryfan] – Foel Goch – Benglog' (f. 19). The watercolour paintings, both of which are labelled 'I. N. fecit', depict two dragonflies on heather (f. 8) and two butterflies on harebell (f. 13). Also included are copies of verses taken from visitors' books and albums during the journey (ff. 6, 7 recto-verso, 18).

Correspondence, 1901-1908, relating to the establishment of Independent Labour Party (ILP) branches in and around Swansea. Included are letters from Charles Duncan of the Workers' Union, John Penny, J. Bruce Glasier and Philip Snowden of the Independent Labour Party, and include references to Keir Hardie and J. Littlejohns. The majority of the letters are to Matt Giles, who became the first full time organiser for the ILP in Wales.

A facsimile from MS 2-ZZN in the Sidney S Rider Collection, Brown University Library, containing transcripts taken in 1784 by the New England historian Isaac Backus (1724-1806), Baptist minister of Middleborough, Massachusetts, of entries from the Ilston Book, the earliest register of Welsh Baptists, now in the custody of Brown University Library.

A 14th century transcript of Imago mundi.

A manuscript draft, [1946], of David Jones's introduction to the BBC radio production of his war poem 'In Parenthesis', first transmitted on the Third Programme, 19 November 1946. The draft contains deletions and revisions in ink and pencil in the hand of the author.
This draft is much closer to the script in its final typescript form (see NLW, David Jones (Artist and Writer) Papers LP5/3, ff. vii-x) than are the other extant drafts (ibid, LP5/4, ff. 1-9). The only significant changes that remained to be incorporated are: a new sentence to replace the line at the beginning of f. 2, the loss of a reference to Brittany (f. 2), the truncation of a section on Maximus the Great (f. 2) and a much expanded ending, with a list of four quotes to be taken directly from the book's introduction substituted with the full quotations (f. 3). The introduction was pre-recorded by Jones; the remainder of the programme was performed live by the cast on 19 November, with a live repeat the following evening.

The proof is effectively identical to the three sets used to produce the corrected proofs now NLW, David Jones (Artist and Writer) Papers LP4/4-6, dated 7-17 April 1937; parts of the subsequent revise (ibid, LP4/8-9) were passed for press. In Parenthesis was published in June 1937, corresponding to the date inscribed on the front cover.
