A collection of some seventy letters, 1771-1790, from Dr Richard Price, Dissenting minister, political philosopher and mathematician, to Sir William Petty, 2nd earl of Shelburne and 1st marquis of Lansdowne, the letters relating mainly to public finance, notably the National Debt, the Sinking Fund and taxation, with other topics including the war with the American colonies; together with a catalogue of the letters and other papers compiled c. 1794 by 'S. P.', with later pencilled notes of subsequent additions to the collection (MS 23291E, ff. 1-15).

The fonds consists of a disappointingly small group of miscellaneous papers accumulated by Dr Roderic Bowen during the course of his political career and public life. They include printed matter, 1901-1993, press cuttings, 1906-1992, speech notes, [1950]-[2000], letters, 1955-2001, and pocket diaries, 1985-2000. There are also files of papers relating to the work of the Committee of Inquiry on Bilingual Road Signs in 1972, which he chaired, and to the unsuccessful attempt to secure a knighthood for Dr Bowen in 2000-2001.

Family papers including an article 'Dylanwad Esiampl' by Dr Rosentyl Griffiths's father Thomas Griffiths ('Brydan', 1869-1953) (see also NLW ex 1605-6); scripture notes by him and two typescript letters, 1918, from Eifion Wyn (1867-1926) to him; a brief biography of 'Brydan' by Dr Rosentyl Griffiths; poems, 1926-1952, composed by 'Brydan' on the birthdays of his daughters, Rosentyl and Bryneilen, and on other occasions; an undated photocopy from Y Darian of a poem 'Darlun yr Awen' by Daniel James ('Gwyrosydd', 1847-1920), written in appreciation after Dr Rosentyl Griffiths's mother cured him of cancer; an account written by Dr Bryneilen Griffiths (1905-1991) of her school days in Cyfarthfa Castle, Merthyr Tydfil, together with her lecture notes on gas warfare during the Second World War; and a typescript account 'Russia re-visited', 1964, by Dr Rosentyl Griffiths of study tours to Russia arranged by the Chest and Heart Association in London, 1960 and 1964.
