A manuscript written in several hands, one of which is that of John Dafydd, 1750, containing poetry by Edward Morris, Lewis Jones 'o'r Pandy', John Edwards ('Siôn Ceiriog'), Huw Morys and others.

A manuscript containing the Bruts (pp. 67-203, 213-292); genealogical tables (pp. 6-66); pedigrees (pp. 293-350); &c. The text is bi-columnar in several styles of writing and in different shades of ink but by one hand, probably that of Owain Gwynedd, except for pp. 138-139, which are in a later hand, possibly that of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt. Place names written in the margins at pp. 333-336, 340, 342-343 may be in the hand of Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt. The volume has a label on the front cover in the same hand as most of the Peniarth Manuscripts and is numbered '3'.
Cf. Aneurin Owen's Catalogue of the Dwning MSS No. 3. This manuscript is described in the Bruts (Oxford, 1890) as 'Mr. Egerton Phillimore's Folio MS'. The text beginning at p. 67 agrees with that of Peniarth MS 212 (= Hengwrt MS 319). For the text beginning at p. 213 see Bruts, p. 349.

A manuscript, unusually well written for the time, containing theological tracts (pp. 1-5, 1-8); the Dialogue between Guido and the Prior (pp. 9-35); and the Gospel of Nicodemus (pp. 36-44).

A manuscript containing Brut y Tywysogion taken from the Red Book of Hergest.
The contents are in the same hand as that of Llanstephan MS 62 and their texts are in agreement in the passages tested.

A composite, imperfect text made up of parts of two independent manuscripts, with the early chapters by a third hand; all three hands belong to the same type or school of writing, and cannot be separated by many years.
Hand A (pp. i, 1-25) has 21 lines to the page, with two-line rubric initials to chapters. This is the work of a hand like that in British Museum Caligula MS A. III, i.e. the C manuscripts of the Laws. These early folios were probably written to fill in the lacuna at the beginning of the principal fragment; however, the first and second folios are now wanting. The text corresponds with p. 477, col. 1, l. 5 to p. 482, col. ii, l. 15 of the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales (Denbigh, 1870). Hand B (pp. 26-101, 146-205) has 30 lines to the page with two-line rubric chapter initials, and rubric headings to certain chapters as in the Myvyrian Archaiology, p. 482, col. ii, l. 15 to p. 511, col. i, l. 29, (531-3), 534-7, l. 3, [lacuna] 538, l. 30 to 539, col. ii, l. 21, (539, col. ii, l. 21 to 540), [lacuna] 541, col. ii to 542, l. 41), [lacuna] (543, col. i-ii, l. 12), 543, col. ii, l. 13 to 545, col. i, (545, col. ii to 547, col. ii, l. 32), 547, col. ii, l. 33 to 553, col. ii, l. 28, (553, col. ii, l. 29 to 554) (where bracketed figures denote text which is summarised in the Myvyrian Archaiology). Hand C (pp. 102-145) has 32 lines to the page, with rubric chapter initials floriated with green, now faded. These folios form the ivth and vth quires of Peniarth MS 44. The text of this version is not in close agreement with that in the Myvyrian Archaiology (p. 510, col. i, l. 48 to p. 531), though the wording is frequently nearly the same. There is a folio wanting between pp. 131 and 132, and between pp. 139 and 140.

A manuscript, mainly in the hand of James Davies ('Iaco ab Dewi') of 'Trerhedyn yn Llan Llawddoc' and completed 15 July 1713 (see p. 30), containing 'Meddygon Myddfai', being a transcript from the Red Book of Hergest, Col. 928. The manuscript is interleaved throughout, and passages of the text are translated here and there on the interleaves by Moses Williams.

A manuscript mainly containing cywyddau of Dafydd ap Gwilym (pp. 1-240). Pp. i-xviii are in the autograph of Moses Williams (1685-1742) and the remainder of the text in that of his brother Samuel Williams. P. i is headed 'Welsh names of Men & Women' and p. xviii is headed 'Librorum MSS. Catalogus'. Pp. 241-250 contain a table of contents.
The one hundred and sixty three poems contained in the text have been numbered by Moses Williams's friend William Jones (1675-1749), who once owned the Shirburn collection of manuscripts.

A manuscript in the autograph of Moses Williams containing Welsh proverbs translated into Latin. Inside the front cover is inscribed: 'Transcribed out a MS. writ by Dr Davies. The Drs.' First and Second Translations are in the Harleian Library. There is another Copy with additions by Mr Vaughan of Hengwrt.' The transcript is mostly written on one side only of the folios, leaving the other side for the many additions made by the transcriber. After f. 97 there are five leaves of additions on paper of a smaller size, and ff. 129-138 contain 'additional Proverbs by Mr. W. Langford late Parson of Llan fawr communicated by the Rev. Mr. Ball Vicar of Northop'.
This collection of proverbs is fuller than the one printed by Dr John Davies at the end of his Dictionary.

A manuscript in the hand of Moses Williams containing 'Y Groclith' (ff. 1-22) and 'Rybud Gabriel at Veir' (ff. 23-26) (Luke i, 26-38), both of which are written in two columns, the one in mediæval, the other in modern orthography.

A manuscript in the autograph of the compiler, Moses Williams. The first part, entitled 'Repertorium Poeticum', contains poetry, the names of the poets arranged in alphabetical order and the first lines of the poems given under the authors' names, with references to sources but without regard to the alphabetical order of the first word in the said lines: this work therefore differs from Williams's Repertorium Poeticum ... (London, 1726), where the lines are arranged in the alphabetical order of the first word, and the author's name is added at the end of every line. The second part of the manuscript, entitled 'Codd. MSS. Britannicorum Catalogus', contains an attempt to indicate the manuscript sources of certain Welsh subjects, which are arranged alphabetically.
The references are more or less confined to manuscripts at the British Museum and at Jesus College, Oxford, to those belonging to John Powell of Talgarth (for whom see Llanstephan MSS 27, 41, 45, 62), and to those belonging to Moses Williams himself.

A manuscript containing poetry (pp. 17-42), the poets including Taliesin, Iolo Goch, Dafydd ab Edmwnt and others, with poetry included also within other sections of the text; triads attributed to Taliesin (p. 16); the Rood legend (pp. 97-103); apocryphal gospels (pp. 104-153, 259-269, 272, 274-276); the Purgatory of Patrick (pp. 202-212); lives of saints (pp. 161-187); proverbs and adages, etc. (pp. 10-12, 14-15, 299-300); prayers (pp. 13, 238-250, 255); vocabulary (pp. 95-96); a planisphere, calendar, planetary tables and other astrological material (pp. 43-86, 89-90, 281-291); interpretation of dreams (pp. 91, 94); palmistry (pp. 92-93); directions concerning bleeding, medical recipes, etc. (pp. 1-9, 87-88, 236, 277-280, 300c-301); &c. A note on p. 221 states that 'Ieuan ap William ap dd: ap ejnws ajysgrivenodd yllyvr hwn i gyd ari gost ihvn i gael o bobyl ddifyrwch o hono alles yw heneidiav o hwn'; there are, however, a few pages (pp. 139-142, etc.) in other hands. There is a table of contents at the beginning in the hand of Richard Morris, 1784-1785, and another at the end by ?William Jones, who states that the manuscript was 'procured me by Mr. Holmes of the Tower'.
The dates appended to many of the subjects in the text show that the binder is responsible for the present derangement of the folios.

A manuscript containing poetry of Bedo Brwynllys, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Guto'r Glyn, Huw Cae Llwyd and others (pp. 1-136, 149-159); a vocabulary (pp. 137-149); Dafydd Ddu [Hiraddug]'s Grammar (pp. 161-198); the statutes of Gruffydd ap Cynan (pp. 199-206 (at the end of this extract is the note 'Dyma y maint a gebhais o'r Statut yn lhybhyr Meistr Sion ap Edward gam o drebh newydd, o blwybh Dewi yn Sir bhracheiniog . 1579 .'); a translation into Welsh of Genesis I (pp. 230-245); Biblical extracts and history (pp. 246-264) (a note on p. 252 records that the Biblical extracts were taken 'o lybhyr Mr Edmond Morgan o Bhedwelhty'); &c. All but pp. 256-259, 265-268 and part of p. 198 are in the autograph of the grammarian Dr John David Rhys (1534-1609); his peculiar orthography begins on p. 13, l. 21. The poetical extracts vary in length from three to fifty lines. The lines selected are not always consecutive; they are even occasionally fragmentary, and many words are explained or glossed. The awdl on p. 256 is in a different but contemporary hand from that of Dr John David Rhys. For p. 265, cf. the text on pp. 22-24, which agrees in part. For the dating of this manuscript see p. 207.

A manuscript in the autograph of Dr John David Rhys (1534-1609) containing mainly notes relating to castles, historical figures, etc.; together with poetry of Siôn Tudur (p. 5)

A manuscript containing The Burial of Arthur (ff. 505-508), Æsop's Fables (ff. 509-521), the Lives of St David and St Beuno (ff. 522-525b, 528-541), the Purgatory of Patrick (ff. 542-557), etc.
There is a lacuna between ff. 507b and 508. The text of 'Buchedd Dewi' is the same as that printed in Llyvyr agkyr Llandewivrevi, pp. 106, l. 4 to 113, l. 28 and pp. 114, l. 28 to 118, l. 22. The text of 'Buchedd Beuno' is the same as that printed in Llyvyr Agkyr Llandewivrevi, p. 119, l. 23 to p. 127. One folio is missing near the beginning of the text of Breudwyd Pawl which differs from that in Llyvyr agkyr Llandewivrevi. The text of 'Purdan Padric' is practically the same as that printed by Canon Robert Williams (from Peniarth MS 5), but wanting p. 194, l. 31 to p. 196, l. 27, p. 201, l. 14 to p. 205, l. 3 and p. 209, l. 29 to p. 211. The writing resembles that of much of the Red Books of Hergest and Talgarth. The manuscript is a continuation of 'Didrefn Gasgliad' Vols I-III.

A manuscript, written in two hands of the first half of the sixteenth century, containing Brut y Brenhined, the text also including the Prophecy of Myrddin.
The fly leaf has a note (1749) on the manuscript by Lewis Morris, who calls the manuscript Brut Tyssilio; there is another note by him at the end of the manuscript.

A manuscript containing a Roman Catholic primer in Welsh compiled from English sources. The text is full of English words and some of the headings indicate its sources (see ff. 70, 147).
