Scope and content

Date(s) on item: November 4 received 1757
I had previously replied to your letter in which you had asked me to arrest all French people and to send them to you. It was not possible to besiege them at that time as they had already left their station and reached one manzil from that place. But now we found a Monsieur Seifrey [?] who was on his way to this place. He is resisting arrest and prefers to be killed than being imprisoned and sent to you. He is threatening to commit suicide or instigate the local people to start a mischief so that he is killed. Please let me know if you want him to be delivered dead or alive [?]
Another, contemporary translation of the contents is CR8/1, entry 258
