Papers of Ellis Davies, 1889-1939, comprising his diaries, journals, correspondence, press cuttings, addresses, articles and memoirs, together with printed and typescript memoranda, reports, policy documents and official publications, including relating to the disestablishment and disendowment of the Church in Wales, 1911-1927, the Liberal land enquiry committee, 1913-1925, foreign policy, 1930s, and the Calvinistic Methodist Bill, 1933. Also included are articles and galley proofs for a volume of reminiscences, Pobl a phethau 1906-36, intended for publication but not published by Llyfrau'r Dryw, 1946, and a notebook belonging to Sir Idris Foster containing notes from Davies's journals and papers [?1960s].

They comprise journals, 1862-1863, of Lewis Jones recording his exploratory visit to Patagonia; material relating to the imprisonment, 1882-1883, of Lewis Jones and R. J. Berwyn whilst attempting to defend the rights of Welsh settlers; an essay, poetry and plays by Lewis Jones; and correspondence, 1862-1892, mainly relating to the Welsh colony.

Papers of Enoch Rees of Maesteg, Glamorgan, comprising cyclostyled stage, musical radio plays, [1940]-[?late 1940s]; copies of published works, [1940s]; miscellaneous papers, including Lord Chamberlain's licences for the performance of plays and programmes, 1941-1945; and biographical and family papers, 1957-1969.

The fonds mainly comprises photocopied newspaper cuttings, 1982-2001, covering various issues relating to the work of the Equal Opportunities Commission Wales. Subject matter includes topics such as age, bullying, child care and maternity, disability, discrimination, education, employment, Europe, homosexuality, language, politics, racism, religion, successful women, training, women in employment, women in sport, and women in the arts. There are also press cuttings relating to The National Assembly for Wales, International Women's Day and Valleys Regeneration. The fonds does not include any administrative papers or correspondence.

Additional papers comprising a small collection of the Equal Opportunities Commission records, including papers relating to the Commissioner for Wales, Equal Pay Task Force papers, 2000, and Quinquennial Review, 1997, together with a collection of printed publications. This group has not as yet been catalogued.
