Papers, [1730x1893], of the Roberts family of Llanbrynmair and of the Howell family of Bontdolgadfan, Llanbrynmair and comprising mainly correspondence, together with sermons, broadsides and miscellanea. The material was preserved by David Howell, Machynlleth and Aberdyfi, cousin of the Reverend Samuel Roberts ('S.R.') and father of the donor, Joseph Matthew Howell.

The papers comprise music manuscripts of the composer and viola player Kenneth Harding (1903-1992), comprising scores and instrumental parts of orchestral works, chamber music, songs and a number of works for the viola.

The archive includes letters and greetings cards, 1953-1972, and correspondence and papers, 1966-1972, deriving from the many groups and societies with which Olwen Caradoc Evans was associated, including the steering committee of the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art and the Nant Conway Rural District Council. There are also family correspondence and papers, 1935-1945, and a file of personal correspondence, 1995-[1998]. There are also biographical and family papers, 1917-1941, research papers, 1904-1988, relating to the ancestry of Dr John Caeradoc Evans; research papers, 1846-1985, concerning the ancestry of Olwen Caradoc Evans herself; and press cuttings and photographs, 1967-1990. There are papers concerning 'Tu Hwnt i'r Bont', 1953-1959, notes relating to her research and business enterprises, 1960-1991, and printed material, 1952-1997.

Papers, 1885-[1922x1936], of Ernest Richmond Horsfall Turner, largely of Montgomeryshire interest. They include extracts, notes and draft essays relating to Llanidloes and Montgomeryshire history, including the Chartist movement within that county; addresses prepared for local societies, meetings, etc.; correspondence; and compositions submitted for the Llanidloes Eisteddfod of 1912; together with poetry by John Newton Crowther (Glanceri), Horsfall Turner's father-in-law.

The collection consists of personal, literary, and editorial correspondence, including correspondence from various poets and literary figures from Wales and other countries, and related papers, 1970-2017; literary contracts, agreements, and statements, 1971-2016; typescripts for published works, 1986-[c.1998]; papers relating to poetry readings, conferences, and events, 1995-2007; press cuttings and reviews, 1974-[c.2012]; papers relating to various music and poetry groups, 1999-2015; and diary notes, 1978-1985.

Comprises the correspondence and political and Royal ephemera created and collected by Sir David Treharne Llewellyn, much of it during his time as MP for Cardiff North (1950-1959). Includes letters from Margot Asquith, Philip Noel Baker, Henry Brooke, R. A. Butler, James Callaghan, Winston Churchill, Anthony Eden, David Maxwell Fyfe, Gwilym Lloyd George, Lord Hailsham, Edward Heath, Geoffrey Howe, Douglas Hurd, Selwyn Lloyd, Harold Macmillan and George Thomas, together with a typed letter to his father, Sir David Richard Llewellyn, from David Lloyd George.

Research of Dr John Roderick Walters, Abergavenny, into the phonology of the accent of English in the Rhondda Valleys, South Wales. The study includes interviews with members of the workman's Clubs in the Valleys communities, audio recordings, PDF files of the transcripts, an analysis and findings. The research findings were published in his PhD thesis: A study of the segmental and suprasegmental phonology of Rhondda Valleys English, at the then University of Glamorgan, 1999. Papers of Lady Charlotte Guest (née Bertie), 1827-1851, [?1873], comprising manuscripts of parts of her English translation of the Mabinogion and their accompanying notes, 1838-[1843]; other manuscripts directly related to her work on the Mabinogion, [?late 1830s]-1851; early notes compiled by Charlotte Bertie (later Guest), on a variety of subjects, 1827-[1830s]; and other miscellaneous items including a deed box.

Papers of Robert Colley comprising a butterfly survey, illustrated with photographs, of the Llanrhystud transect, 2000-2007; and two field notebooks containing Chough surveys in the same area, 2003-2004.

Papers of journalist Patrick Hannan including correspondence, research notes, interviews for articles and scripts television and radio programes along with copies of articles. It contains interviews with leading political figures including Peter Hain, Rhodri Morgan, Alun Michael, Dafydd Wigley and Ieuan Wyn Jones as well as correspondence with the composer Daniel Jones.

Papers of Leighton Andrews, including material relating to his time in the National Assembly; material relating to his early career, including at the BBC; correspondence with various public figures, including Lord Scarman; and material relating to the 1997 Yes for Wales campaign.

Scrapbooks of press cuttings and correspondence relating to Sir John Lynn-Thomas's career, together with notes and annotated copies of his book Key of all Wales in South-West Cardiganshire (1932).

Papers donated by the Aberystwyth, Pontypridd and Cardiff branches of Welsh Women's Aid. They include material relating to the constitution, corporate structure, strategic development and codes of practice of Welsh Women's Aid; records of its Management Committee and of numerous departmental meetings; internal and external correspondence; accounting, fundraising and other administrative papers; material celebrating Welsh Women's Aid's twenty-first, twenty-fifth and fortieth anniversaries; and individual branch archives of Welsh Women's Aid, all of which reference the issues affecting women and their children who access Women's Aid, such as domestic violence, social welfare and law and legislation.

There is considerable overlap of subject-matter within sections of the archive: for example, corporate and work reports, statistics and questionnaires, as well as material relating to violence against women, children/families, housing and benefits appear under multiple sections, while records of individual group meetings such as Employment and Finance or material relating to accounts, conferences, training courses, etc frequently appear under details of Management Committee meetings, Annual Reviews and so forth.

Papers of Sharon Penman, [c.1982]-2021, relating to the writing and publication of her Welsh princes trilogy ('Here Be Dragons', 'Falls the Shadow' and 'The Reckoning'), including research papers, drafts of the novels and associated correspondence, publicity material and reviews, as well as a small amount of ephemera relating to her other work.

Five manuscripts formerly in the Duke of Newcastle's library at Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire, comprising genealogies of North Wales families; texts from the Alexander cycle and the Historia Regum Britanniae of Geoffrey of Monmouth; a transcript of Rice Merrick's 'Morganiae Archaiographia'; and volumes in the hands of John Prise of Brecon and Hereford, grandson of Sir John Prise (1502?-1555), and of Thomas Prise, Wistaston, Herefordshire, probably grandson of the former.
