The fonds comprises the papers of Robin Reeves including general subject files, 1967-1987; files concerning subjects of Welsh interest, 1973-1999; files concerning political subjects, 1974-1995; files relating to various organisations, societies, public bodies, newspapers etc., 1975-1996; files relating to various geographical areas in Wales, the British Isles and overseas, 1972-1995; files reflecting his literary interests and activities, 1978-1999; and miscellaneous papers, 1962-2001.

Some sixty letters, 1886-1913, to Alfred Thomas, 1st baron Pontypridd, relating mainly to national and local politics and to secondary and university education in Wales. The correspondents include Sir Edward Anwyl (1) 1905, Henry Austin Bruce, Lord Aberdare (1) 1886, Sir D. Brynmor Jones (2) 1900, J. Viriamu Jones (3) 1900, Sir Isambard Owen (1) 1893, Robert Threshie Reid, Lord Loreburn (4) 1908-1911, Lord Rendel (2) 1899, 1902, and Charles Vaughan, dean of Llandaf (6) 1888-1897.

Some thirty letters, 1925-1940, from the Dutch scholar Theodor Max Chotzen to Dr E. D. Jones. Written mainly in Welsh, they contain personal news, details of the writer's publications, references to contemporary Welsh scholars, and observations on political events in Wales. Also included is a letter, 1946, from his widow containing information concerning her husband's imprisonment by the Germans and subsequent death on 27 February 1945.

The political diaries of Lord Roberts of Conwy from 1970 to 1996 divided into 18 volumes. The diaries cover most of Lord Roberts' time as Member of Parliament for Conwy and his entire career at the Welsh Office and include letters, newpaper cuttings and pictures added by Lord Roberts. Many subject are covered including the establishment of S4C, Welsh language legislation, inward investment, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, Northern Ireland, the bombing of the Conservative Party conference in Brighton by the IRA in 1984, general elections and the European Union.

Papers relating to the life and career of Edward Morgan Humphreys, including letters to E. Morgan Humphreys, from several prominent Welsh figures, 1900x1955, relating to professional matters, such as his articles and contributions to newspapers, requests for articles, radio talks, addresses, literary works, public appointments, his involvement with the eisteddfod and various committees; together with some letters relating to personal affairs, politics and literary matters and letters written to him in his role as an editor; miscellaneous and family ('Dyffryn') correspondence, which are mostly letters of the families of E. Morgan Humphreys' great-grandfather, the Rev Richard Humphreys, and of his grandfather, the Rev Edward Morgan, [1800]x1953; articles, radio scripts and addresses by E. Morgan Humphreys, 1902x1955; together with some personal and family papers, 1841x1955; articles, poetry, adjudications and letters to the editor of Y Genedl etc., by T. The papers comprise correspondence files, 1918-1982, among them general and political letters to Goronwy Roberts and constituency correspondence; subject files, 1913-1981, including papers concerning foreign affairs (some deriving from Goronwy Roberts's trips abroad), domestic politics, Welsh politics and matters relating to Wales, and files of material concerning Caernarfonshire; various personalia, 1918-1982; and miscellaneous papers, 1900-1997, including printed items and press cuttings.

Addresses relating to the political scene in Wales, written by Saunders Lewis on behalf of his daughter, Mair Saunders Jones, the donor; three are from the late 1940s and another from the 1950s.

Letters to Elwyn Davies, translator and poet, from literary friends. They contain personal news and observations on the correspondents' own writing, on Anglo-Welsh literature and on current affairs in Wales. The main correspondents are Raymond Garlick (44) 1963-1980, Glyn Jones (23) 1934, 1944-1981, and Roland Mathias (7) 1965-1972.

Parliament for Wales Campaign records, 1988-2000, including minutes, accounts, correspondence, and files relating to membership, branches, policy, activities and publications.

A further consignment of papers were recived comprising correspondence, minutes of meetings and financial papers. This group remains uncatalogued.

The papers, 1960-2003, reflect Councillor Ray Davies's life and the political campaigns and activities in which he was involved. Many are cuttings from local and national newspapers and other printed items. Some of the material reflects his campaigns in various elections, others the movements which he supported and in which he participated. A large number relate to the campaign against the community charge in the 1980s and 1990s. A few stem from his personal and family life.

Three lots of Councillor Ray Davies'r papers were received, 2006-2008. These remain uncatalogued.
