The poems include 'carolau', 'cerddi', 'cywyddau' and 'englynion' by Hugh Morys, Dafydd Nanmor, Maredudd ap Rhys, William Wynne, John [Siôn] Cadwaladr, Jonathan Hughes, Lewis Morris ('Llywelyn Ddu'), Ellis Roberts, Rees Ellis, Roger Thomley, Ellis Cadwaladr, Matthew Owen, Edmwnd Prys, Dafydd Manuel and others. A valentine from Cadwaladr Davies to Jane Jones is dated 14 February 1749.

Seven notebooks containing notes made during, or immediately after, interviews conducted by the donor with Welsh politicians, public figures and activists during the period 1968-70, as research for his D.Phil thesis at Oxford University on Welsh nationalism 1945-70, later published as: The Welsh question: nationalism in Welsh politics, 1945-1970 (Cardiff: University of Wales Press, 1975). Mr Owen allowed the Library to photocopy his research work entitled 'Letters written by the Hall Family Jamaica and London, 1779-1796', including transcripts of letters from the Hon. Charles Hall (1729-1795) in Jamaica to his nephew Edward Hall (1747-1798), surgeon in London and first secretary of the Whig Club; letters from the latter to Charles Hall; and letters from Charles Hall (1751-1797) in Jamaica to his brother Edward Hall, the surgeon.

Mr Owen allowed the Library to photocopy his work entitled 'The Boer War Adventures of Edward, Duncan and Logie Fitzwilliams', containing extracts from the letters and diaries of the three sons of Charles Home Lloyd Fitzwilliams, Cilgwyn, Newcastle Emlyn. The first volume relates to Edward Charles Lloyd Fitzwilliams, October 1899-December 1901, and the second to Duncan Campbell Lloyd Fitzwilliams, March 1900-March 1901, and William Logie Lloyd Fitzwilliams, February 1900-May 1901.
