Tune book, c. 1843-1851, of John Ambrose Lloyd (1815-1874) containing anthems, mainly by J. Ambrose Lloyd himself, some apparently unpublished, including two composed for the use of the Temperance Choirs of Conwy and neighbourhood and performed at the North Wales Temperance Festival, 1852. The volume was used by the composer when choirmaster at Salem Welsh Congregational chapel, Brownlow Hill, Liverpool (see letter, 1934, from his granddaughter, Marianne Lloyd, tipped in on f. i) and is probably the Salem Chapel collection referred to in C. Francis Lloyd and Elfed, Cofiant John Ambrose Lloyd (Wrecsam, 1921).

The file comprises papers, 1960 and 1970, relating to Joseph David Jones, Ruthin (1827-1870), schoolmaster and composer, including a typescript autobiography copied from the original, a typescript copy of an account of J. D. Jones by the Rev. H. Elvet Lewis which appeared in the British Weekly, 21 May 1908, letters and press cuttings regarding the centenary of his death. The papers were collected, in all probability, by Mr Oswald Davies, Ruthin, and transferred at some point to the care of Mr T. I. Ellis.

The 1973 deposit mainly contains deeds and documents, 1564-1932, relating to properties in Montgomeryshire, many relating to the Lloyd family of Montgomery. The 1979 deposit comprises materials gathered by J. D. K. Lloyd for a History of Montgomery; a bundle of deeds and documents, [19 cent.]-[20 cent.], relating to the family of Lloyd of Plas Trefaldwyn, Montgomery, and Castell Forwyn, Abermule; photographic albums, 1898-1978, comprising mainly family photographs; a collection of over 1000 postcards and photographs of historic buildings throughout Europe; and seven manuscript maps of land in Montgomeryshire, 1772-1858.
