Fifteen letters, 1816-28, written by William Michell (ca. 1774-1829), vicar of Llantrisant, co. Glamorgan, to his father Dr John Michell, vicar of Fairford, co. Gloucester (4), his mother (10), and his brother Major Edward T. Michell (1), containing mainly news and gossip about the gentry of counties Brecon and Glamorgan, in whose society he moved; included in the last letter is a survey, 1828, of the Michell family estate in Huish Episcopi, co. Somerset.

A copy, 2009, of the memoirs of William Haggar's children, edited by the donor Peter Yorke, his great grandson, including an introduction and appendices and notes by him. William Haggar was a showman and travelling film-maker who spent a great deal of time in South Wales producing and showing his films.

Some two hundred and forty letters, airgraphs and cards, 1939-45, from Vera K[athleen] Jones (b. 1916) to her family in Heybridge, co. Essex. Written mostly from Palestine and India, they describe her experiences while serving as a nursing sister with the Army during the Second World War.

A volume, 1716-67, containing culinary, medical and veterinary recipes, mainly compiled by Mary Edwards, probably of Great Ness, co. Salop, later the wife of the Reverend William Parry of Ness (will proved at PCC, 1767), with additions by other hands. The recipes were mainly acquired from relatives and friends from the same county, but a few are drawn from printed sources such as The Gentleman's Magazine. An index is included on pp. 299-310.

The first section of the work was published in the Merthyr historian, vol. 19 (2008), and the second section includes reproductions of Merthyr Brick and Tile Company Limited company records which are held by the National Archives, Kew.

Cause book, 1659-87, of John Maddocks (1601-62), Bodfari, co. Flint, containing lists of the civil cases heard on the Chester and North Wales circuits of the Great Sessions in Wales, April 1659 - October 1661 and October 1659 - September 1661 respectively, in which he appeared as an advocate (ff. 2-36; 170-84 verso inverted text); two civil cases heard in the Great Sessions for co. Denbigh, August 1666, are listed in another hand on f. 37. The volume was later used by another scribe (the entry on f. 156 verso is in another hand who also added memoranda on f. 186 verso) to copy extracts from the court book of the bishop of Bangor's manors of Llan, Llech and Llanelidan, co. Denbigh, for sessions held May 1683 - November 1687 before John Maddocks, steward, probably the advocate's son (ff. 156 verso-68 verso inverted text). Other items comprise legal and financial memoranda, including a list, 1662, in the hand of Edward Wynne of bonds delivered by him (f. 185 recto-verso inverted text).

A volume lettered on the outside, upper cover 'Sheriffs of Monmouthshire, 1541 and subsequently', and containing a record of the sheriffs of Monmouthshire, 1541-1937, with notes on their armorial bearings. The volume was compiled in 1937, by William Gardner of Newport, on the instructions of Frederick Pring Robjent, of Fields House, Newport, sheriff of the county, 1937-1938, whose armorial bearings (emblazoned) appear at the beginning of the volume.

'Cyflawn Fynegydd i'r Ysgrythyrau Sanctaidd neu Eiriadur ac Egwyddorawl Ddangoseg i'r Bibl Cyssegrlan', being an incomplete (letters a-d), expository concordance to the Bible in Welsh. The work is in seventeen sections, with a duplicate copy of section sixteen.

A list containing the names of some one hundred and thirty-six former students of the Neuadd-lwyd school or academy ('Myfyrwyr Athrofa Neuaddlwyd'), giving in some instances, the dates of their entering the academy, of commencing their career in the ministry (where applicable), and of death. Occasionally, notes such as 'Went to America', or 'To Rotherham where he died', are added.
A note-book bearing on the fly-leaf the inscription 'R. G. Vivian, London, 6 August 1886' [Richard Glynn Vivian, founder of the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea]. The contents consist of miscellaneous memoranda, and a record of expenditure in London and on the continent (Bayreuth, Brussells, Frankfurt, Innsbruck, Liege, Munich, Nuremberg, Paris, Vienna, etc.), 1887-1890. Items of expenditure recorded include travelling expenses, hotel bills, daily disbursements, and sums expended on the purchase of china, enamels, miniatures, paintings and prints, and other art objects. The following are a few of the purchases recorded - a pencil miniature of a lady of the family of the 4th duke of Richmond, by John Comerford, date 1827; a sketch, oil on panels, of two women embracing, by Annibal Carracci; miniatures of Mrs. Siddons and Mrs. Berry, in gold lockets with pearl borders, by R[ichard] Cosway ; a picture of 'The Cathedral Church of S. Nicholas, Newcastle on Tyne', by T[homas] M[iles] Richardson, senior; a framed oil painting 'Foxgloves', by John Constable; 'A Study of Clouds in colours', 9 July 1819, by John Constable; miniatures by Sir W[ illia]m John Newton, including those of Lady Adela Ibbetson, Prince Esterhazy, John Opie, R.A., and the Countess of Oxford, etc. The entries recording the purchase of miniatures, etc., are very often illustrated with pen-and-ink, thumbnail sketches of the object purchased. Many of the items whose purchase is recorded in the present note-book, are now in the Glynn Vivian Gallery at Swansea.

Papers, 1916-1918, 1937, of Edmund Davies of Dyffryn Ardudwy, Merionethshire, relating to his service with the 17th Royal Welch Fusiliers during the First World War.
They include a notebook containing maps of places in France and Belgium connected with the fighting; correspondence with Edmund Davies's parents, informing them of the injuries sustained at the Ypres Salient in Belgium in February 1917 and including permits to allow them to visit him in hospital at Fermoy, Ireland; and a letter from the American Consul in Liverpool, 1937, advising Edmund Davies on possible American citizenship as he was born in Kansas City.

An album bearing on the inside upper cover the inscription 'Sarah Davies, Ffosrhydgaled [in the parish of Llanychaearn, co. Cardigan], Dec[ember] 30 1850'. The contents include a few autographs, copies of poems, pencil sketches, and illustrations including a water colour painting of a coastal scene signed 'W. E. Richardes'.

Cardigan, as confirmed by the Tithe Commissioners in 1848, prefaced by copies of an agreement and award made prior to the apportionment and confirmed by the Commissioners in 1842 and 1848 respectively.
