The file includes ten letters, 1932-1934, from Walter L. Irvine, landscape architect, to Sir Alfred T. Davies, President of the Memorial Committee, concerning proposed gardens for the Institute (ff. 7-25); papers relating to the commemorative stone, 1931, the opening of the memorial hall, 1932 (ff. 26-32), and the foundation and administration of the Institute (ff. 33-40). In addition, the file contains two letters, 1927-1928, addressed to Sir Alfred T. Davies from J. Elias Jones, regarding the preservation and future of Tŷ Mawr, Wybrnant, Penmachno, Caernarfonshire (ff. 42-5).

A typescript letter (with brief manuscript end-note), dated 25 October 1928, from W. G. Perrin of the Society for Nautical Research to an undisclosed recipient enclosing a transcript, c. 1823, of a letter, dated 1 August 1823, written aboard HMS Fury by William Harvey Hooper, ship's purser. HMS Fury, under the captaincy of William Edward Parry, was on an exploratory voyage to seek out the Northwest Passage.
Hooper's letter contains a sketch map of part of the voyage (f. 6) and a table containing meteorological data (f. 11). The material also includes typescript notes relating to HMS Fury, HMS Hecla and Captain Parry.

Nodir mai gan 'Gwilym Llugwy' (William Owen, Betws y Coed) mae un o'r englynion (f. 7). Ceir ôl adolygu a chywiro ar beth o'r cerddi, sy'n awgrymu efallai mai gwaith un o'r sgrifenwyr ydyw'r rhai neillduol hynny = One of the englynion is noted as being by 'Gwilym Llugwy' (William Owen, Betws y Coed) (f. 7). There are marks of editing and correction on some of the poems, which suggests that these particular ones may be in the autograph of one of the scribes.

Two notebooks, NLW MS 16798Ai being a printed account book for the year 1802 possibly belonging to a yeoman farmer or man of similar profession, NLW MS 16798Aii being a journal without dates and containing only rough accounts on ff. 6 verso-7.
NLW MS 16798Ai mainly contains details of accounts settled and owed together with general observations on the weather, agricultural duties, etc. There are rough accounts on inside front cover, ff. i, ii verso, 85 recto-verso, and inside back cover. The location of the writer is uncertain but may have been Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire or another county at or near the Welsh border as mention is made of travelling to Howle in Shropshire (ff. 13 verso, 42 verso, 43 verso, 44 verso), to [?Soilwell Farm] in Gloucestershire (f. 32 verso), to Hereford (f. 29 verso), and to attending Ross[-on-Wye] church (f. 23 verso).

An incomplete manuscript draft, [1938], by the Rev. John Jenkins, Vicar of Llanarthney, Carmarthenshire (1908-1934), of his book Llanarthney: The Parish, its People and Places (Carmarthen, 1939).
The manuscript consists of drafts of the Introduction and Chapters I-V (ff. 1-17), Chapter VIII (ff. 17-21) and the beginning of Chapter IX (f. 21), mainly concerning the Parish Church, the village and Sir William Paxton. The text is written on the rectos with corrections and additions supplied on those pages or on the versos opposite.

Notebook of Samuel Davies of Lampeter, Cardiganshire, carpenter, containing a register, 1887-1904, of coffins made by him (ff. 2 verso-22 verso). The volume gives details of the deceased, which include four relatives of Davies's (see ff. 5, 6, 16 verso, 20 verso) and a significant number of paupers. Davies was contracted in December 1887 by the Lampeter Board of Guardians to supply coffins for the poor of Lampeter and surrounding parishes (see ff. 2 verso-3, 13).
The volume also includes a further list, [1887], of coffins made prior to commencing the volume, compiled from memory (ff. 1 recto-verso); and an account of money received by Samuel and Elizabeth Davies, 1891-1899, towards the maintenance of their four orphaned grandchildren (ff. 23 verso-25 verso, inverted text).
