A commonplace book of Robert Owen (1820-1902: DNB, Second Supp., Vol. III, p. 61) of Bron-y-Graig, Barmouth, theologian, clergyman, and author. It contains poems composed by himself and others, extracts from works read by him, and diary entries, 1834-1836, made when he was a pupil at Ruthin School, these entries having numerous references to Nannau and other North Wales country houses and to persons connected with them.

It contains poems by Taliesin and others, pedigrees, copies of charters, extracts from historical records and annals, a list of the bishops of Bangor (compiled between 1598 and 1616), lists of owners of Welsh manuscripts and books, recipes, archaeological notes, and miscellaneous memoranda.
