A photostat copy of a document belonging to the Birmingham Reference Library, being a petition, [c. 1620]-1636, by one John Feild of Kings Norton, Worcestershire to the Rt Hon. William Compton, Earl of Northampton (d. 1630) and President of the Council in the Marches of Wales, requesting the Council to compel certain tenants of the manor of Kings Norton to fulfil their promise to bear a part of the expenses of Feild's action, while holding the office of bailiff of the manor, against one Thomas Rea in a dispute concerning the goods of two women who had been executed for witchcraft.

A volume containing the petition of William Hurst, formerly of Gabalfa and Dinas Powys, to the Court of Exchequer concerning his claims in Dinas Powys, Rumney, Llandough, Highlight, Cibwr, St Andrews Major, Merthyr Dyfan, Cogan, Roath, St Brides-super-Ely, Llanedern, Llandaf, Ystradyfodwg, Peterston-super-Ely and Cardiff. Also included are: a sale bill, 1825, from the Roath estate; a promissory note, 1821, from Harford's ironworks, Machen; the probate record, 1845, of Noah Morgan, Cymer; and an election address, 1851, from General Sir George Tyler to the voters of Glamorgan, with manuscript notes on the contents by Ifan Kyrle Fletcher.

A volume containing a holograph translation made in 1810 by the Reverend Ebenezer Richard (1781-1837), Calvinistic Methodist minister, of Tregaron, etc., of an unknown Welsh treatise written in support of the Ordination movement. The title-page reads: 'The Complaint of the Calvinistic Methodists in Wales On account of their being destitute of the Ordinances of Christ in his Churches, viz. Baptism and the Supper of the Lord. Translated from the Ancient British 1810'. According to the dedicatory letter, the translation was undertaken at the request of Ebenezer Richard's friend and patron, Captain James Bowen of Cardigan and subsequently of Llwyn-gwair, Pembrokeshire.
