The addressee might do considerable good to the cause if at Abergavenny he would make half as good a speech as he did formerly at Merthyr, and among other topics introduce remarks of the following tendency. Wvndham Lewis to John Jones. Concerning the form of an affidavit in the suit between Forman and Guest; outlines also the terms of an agreement under which the Dowlais Co, were to have a lease for 99 years of sufficient minerals to work 12 furnaces, the remainder of the minerals to be let by Lord Bute, the Dowlais Company to receive a moiety of the respective rents, including the Bute Works, during the rest of the current lease, being 22 or 23 years, and Lord Bute was to have 1/3 of the rent of the coal let to the Penydarran Company, or £1200 a year in lieu.
