Archive of the Cambrian Coast Line Action Group comprising papers created and collected during the campaign to prevent the closure of the Cambrian Coast railway line between machynlleth and Pwllheli and to improve services an the line along with the archive of the Welsh Railways Action Group, formed in 1971 to co-ordinate between various railway campaigns in wales and to campaign for improvements to the Welsh railway network as a whole and papers and publications relating to local rail campaign groups in west Wales, along the Heart of Wales line and in the Wrexham area.

Documents, 1818-1941, mostly of late-nineteenth century Cardiganshire interest, which were collected by and recovered from the Cambrian newspaper salvage campaign, 1940-1941, comprising miscellaneous items including tradesmen's and business records, personal diaries and note-books, hymn and music books, rules for Cardiganshire miners, a school attendance book, and the account book of a brig.

The contents include a notice of an eisteddfod under the auspices of the Gwyneddigion Society at Caerwys, 1798, together with Gosodaethau a Rheolau Cymdeithas y Gwyneddigion and other material relating to the Society; a draft consitution of the Cambrian Society in the hand of W. J. Rees [1818]; resolutions and accounts of the Cambrian Society in Dyfed, 1818-20 and undated; programmes of concerts at the Town Hall, Carmarthen, by the Royal Bath Harmonic Society, 1819-20; a programme of an eisteddfod to be held at Carmarthen in 1823, together with manuscript addresses delivered by Thomas Price ('Carnhuanawc') and [Daniel Evans ('Daniel Ddu o Geredigion'); resolutions of the Cambrian Society in Gwent, 1821-2; material relating to eisteddfodau and concerts held at Brecon, 1822 and 1826; resolutions of the Cymmrodorion Society in Powys, 1819-24; announcements of eisteddfodau to be held at Wrexham, 1820, and Welshpool, 1824; a holograph letter from Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain') to W. Minute or 'report' book of the Cambro-Briton Society ('Cymdeithas y Brythonwys'), London, 23 January-18 December, 1885, together with an account of its foundation at meetings held on 19 and 30 December, 1884. The minutes were written by T. G. Davies and Rowland Rees, respectively the first and second secretaries of the Society.

The fonds consists of three groups of papers of the Campaign for the Protection of Rural Wales (CPRW), formerly the Council for the Preservation of Rural Wales, and the Council for the Protection of Rural Wales, the first dated 1928-1961, deposited in 1966, the second (papers of the Caernarfonshire branch) dated 1976-1986, deposited in 1986, both of which had been described in a separate, earlier schedule. Both the 1966 group (Records and Classified files), and the third group (starting with General meeting minutes), deposited in 2002, are described here below. The 2002 deposit comprises General Meeting minutes, 1935-1971, Executive Committee minutes, 1935-1989, Finance and General Purposes Committee minutes, 1973-1989, Meetings of Trustees minutes, 1979-1989, and a committee attendance book, 1973-1989.
