I have received your letter stating that an Armenian has complained that he is not being allowed his merchandise loaded on two boats to be transferred on to a government ship and the officials are asking him to pay taxes. This Armenian is not telling the truth. As a matter of fact he left the boats on the night of 8th and 9th of this month and has expressed his satisfaction. I have instructed my men not to load anyone's merchandise on the official ships and these Armenians want to do the contrary. Anyhow, I have written to Nand Kumar to assist these Armenians. I have instructed him also that private merchandise should not be carried on official ships

I have been informed that the boats which had gone to collect salt at Chaklah Nichli [?] have been confiscated by your staff and do not want to release them. As this is the season to collect salt and the main income of the area is from this commodity it is requested that you ask your officials to release these boats and their staff

I had received a letter from Mr Watts Sahib that he was sending ten boxes containing one Lac rupees and that I should look after them and inform you about their arrival. These boxes sealed with the seal of Mr Watts have now arrived here and the letter, which accompanied these boxes, is being sent to you. Please let me know what action to take regarding this amount. Also please reply to Mr Watts's letter that I have received the amount.
P.S. I had received a parvanah addressed to you from the Nawab. This is enclosed with this letter. Please send me a reply so that I could forward it to the Nawab. [Not included]

He is now on his way to see you and to give details of various matters. Fakhr al-Tujjar Khvajah Wajid is trying to harm him and he has old enmity with Siva Babu. I am writing this for your information

Today, Tuesday, 1 of Rabi I, the Dutch Captain in charge of Qasim Bazar with four other people and with four captains of ships, two assistants and a Vakil came to see the Nawab. They were presented with Khillat, Sar-panj, etc., for the Directors of the Dutch East Company. I am writing this for your information
P.S. At the time of writing this letter they are all staying in the garden of Chief Trader [Fakhr al-Tujjar] and they have not entered the fort

Received your letter regarding the complaint of cruelty lodged by Mirza Nur Ali against me and your annoyance at such a report as well as asking me to pay the overdue amount from Hoogli and the wages of the Company employees to Divan Nand Kumar as soon as possible. My dear Sir, I have not seen Mirza Nur Ali Beg for a long time as I had no business to do so. I am surprised at the baseless accusations he has levied against me. As far as your anger regarding the overdue amount from Hoogli is concerned, I have already written to you a number of times explaining my situation and if you feel angry after this I cannot do much about it. It will be better if you could send someone to investigate the allegations of Mirza Nur Ali Beg regarding the payment of wages to the Company employees.
