A bound volume labelled 'Eisteddfod Proceddings', compiled by William Jenkins Rees (1772-1855), rector of Cascob, Radnorshire, and consisting largely of printed notices addressed to him by Cambrian Societies in Wales and in London. The contents include a notice of an eisteddfod under the auspices of the Gwyneddigion Society at Caerwys, 1798, together with Gosodaethau a Rheolau Cymdeithas y Gwyneddigion and other material relating to the Society; a draft consitution of the Cambrian Society in the hand of W. J. Rees [1818]; resolutions and accounts of the Cambrian Society in Dyfed, 1818-20 and undated; programmes of concerts at the Town Hall, Carmarthen, by the Royal Bath Harmonic Society, 1819-20; a programme of an eisteddfod to be held at Carmarthen in 1823, together with manuscript addresses delivered by Thomas Price ('Carnhuanawc') and [Daniel Evans ('Daniel Ddu o Geredigion'); resolutions of the Cambrian Society in Gwent, 1821-2; material relating to eisteddfodau and concerts held at Brecon, 1822 and 1826; resolutions of the Cymmrodorion Society in Powys, 1819-24; announcements of eisteddfodau to be held at Wrexham, 1820, and Welshpool, 1824; a holograph letter from Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain') to W. J. Rees, 1824; records of the Welshpool eisteddfod of 1824, including adjudications by Rowland Williams [Ysceifiog] and [John Jenkins ('Ifor Ceri')], an address by ['Gwallter Mechain], and 'englynion' to Powis Castle by R. D[avies] ('Bardd Nantglyn'); resolutions and proceedings, etc. of the Cymmrodorion Society in London or the Metropolitan Cambrian Institution, 1820-8, a copy of a letter from J. Parry ('Bardd Alaw') to J. Jenkins ('Ifor Ceri'), 1820 (enclosing a letter from Wm. Owen Pughe to Mr. Parry), a copy of a letter to Sir W. W. Wynn, 1820, a holograph letter from John Parry to [W. J. Rees], 1820, a copy of the resolution of the Society admitting W. J. Rees to honourary membership, 1820, and two holograph letters from the Society to W. J. Rees, 1821-2; order of proceedings of the sixth anniversary of the Carmarthen Cymreigyddion Society, 1828; a programme of a concert held in the nave of Bangor Cathedral, principally by the Bath Harmonic Society, 1821; a programme of a concert at St. Mary's Church [Brecon], 1822; etc.

A volume containing forty-five holograph letters, 1820-30, mostly dated, on guards, with a few drafts and miscellaneous papers, from Evan Evans ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'; 1795-1855), writing at various times from Trefriw, Croesoswallt [Oswestry], Berriw (Aberrhiw), Llanrwst, St Bees, Chester and Christleton to 'Teulu Darowen' (addressed generally to the Reverend Thomas Richards (1754-1837), Darowen) and to individual members of the Darowen family, viz. the Reverend David Richards, vicar of Llansilin, the Reverend Thomas Richards (1785-1855), Berriew, later rector of Llangynyw, M[eistresa]n Sian Rhisiard, Darowen and the Reverend Richard Richards, Caerwys, and one letter, 1822, from J[ames] Evans, Sec[retary], Cymmrodorion Institution, London to Mr Evan Evans, Grammar School, Berriew, Montgomeryshire. The subjects discussed by Evan Evans include his health, education and financial position, literary matters (references to Y Gwyliedydd), his situation in the church, etc. The other items in the volume include a draft of a letter to [ ] Parry and lines of verse entitled 'Poor little Sweep'. The present arrangement of the letters is chronological, however a list [?in the autograph of J. H. Davies] inside the front cover relates to earlier numbers preceded by the letters 'E. E.' [? for Evan Evans] which are to be found on many of the letters near the address.

Miscellaneous printed (pp. 1-64) and manuscript (pp. 65-94) papers, including poems by Hugh Jones (Llangwm), Ellis Edwards and others, some of them written in praise of members of the Plas Gwyn (Anglesey), Bagillt, Plas yn Nerwen and Garthmeilio families (pp. 65-94 passim); printed poems, including hymns, by Robert Williams (Robert ap Gwilym Ddu) (pp. 47, 55, 59) and John Roberts (Sion Lleyn) (pp. 45, 57); 'Recommendatory Lines' and other printed papers relating to Owen Williams, Llanddeiniolen, 'a poor harmless North Wales traveller' (pp. 49-51); a printed poem by 'Marplot' entitled 'A Description of the Coterie, By a Young Gentleman in Denbigh, To his Friend in Manchester' (p. 53); a Welsh broadside relating to vaccination, printed by Broster at Bangor; papers dealing with the activities of the Society of Ancient Britons and the Cymmrodorion Society, including recommendations by the latter society 'to promote the Establishment of Societies for the Encouragement of Agriculture, Manufactures, and Commerce, in the different Counties of ... Wales; and prospectuses of proposed publications.
